There's Something In My Eye on Soundcloud There's Something In My Eye on YouTube A song requesting to deny or at least delay the ultimate breakup. Although this one is on my last album, Soundcloud has the better mix because it allows us to change the audio. Could you hold off saying it if you're gonna say goodbye? Can't you see there's something in my eye? When we had our first fight I remember how you said you knew that we would last. Now you say you know it's over, but what of the love we still share? Could you hold off a little while and give it once last try. Can't you see there's something in my eye? You asked to meet me cuz you said we need to talk about relationships. But I don't want to hear those words I know will flow from your loving lips. Maybe you will soften and the love we have you'll know how strong it can grow. So let us just try a little while, and soon I know you'll feel as I do. We can make it all work out if you'll let me show you why. Can't you see there's something in my eye? Marty,
You have no shortage of GREAT songs! Love the lyrics and the vocal - awesome arrangement as well!
At times it sounds like you have George Benson playing some cool fills behind you.
EXCELLENT!

Marty, cool song. Love how the harmonic journey is "smooth" but has a subtly jagged edge that syncs with the lyrics. Nice write and super arrangement. I love the character of your vocals, so would make them a tiny bit drier, but that's just me. Super tune!

Gentle funky pop from the woodsman. Clever lyric, smoooooooooooth melody & delivery. The snare annoys me sometimes & not at others. The sonics remind me of Gallagher & Lyle Breakaway era.

As I wrote on YT: This is a gorgeous song, Marty. Great chord structure, beautiful instrumentation and a brilliant sax solo.

This is my favorite song on your latest album... I've probably said that already many times Nicely laidback tune with excellent chord progression taking me to sunny and warm beaches from this dark winterworld. And that's what the story tells me, about will to hold on to the warmth of love. Very cool band, the sax solo is a perfect fit for the mood! Enjoyed your vocals and the bass playing. Marty, you are not only capable of creating enjoyable blues songs, but you are also a professional in composing cool and smooth jazz pieces. What could be a brighter song for the shortest day of the year! Janne

Way too jazzy for my taste, but I really liked the lyrics and your vocals. An your production has some really nice little bells and whistles to discover, so headphones are recommended.

Hi Marty,
This is right in my comfort zone. Love smooth jazz - especially when so well produced and performed.
You make great music and the rest of us are so fortunate to have early and lasting access to it.
You might want to give that bass player a raise - he kills it on this one!
Loved it - top shelf all the way.
Merry Christmas.
Alan

I love the character of your vocals, so would make them a tiny bit drier, but that's just me. Super tune! Thanks, Ron. Love that comment about smooth harmony/jagged edge. Good advice on dry-mouthing me, but that voice needs everything I throw at it and more. Have a great Christmas, Ron. Two Babu songs in one day.....my lucky day!! Kind of different from your usual feel, but very cool!! Love the dreamy sound of the band, and of course love your vocal!! A treat!! Take care. Greg Thanks, Greg, but I got ya beat on the lucky day angle. I have like two of your Christmas albums running here. Have a great Christmas, Greg, and thanks for making ours here so much more enjoyable. Gentle funky pop from the woodsman. Clever lyric, smoooooooooooth melody & delivery. The snare annoys me sometimes & not at others. The sonics remind me of Gallagher & Lyle Breakaway era. Thanks, Ray. Not sure which version you heard, but the SC one has the better snare. Oh, man, now i gotta look up those guys. Have a great Christmas, Ray. As I wrote on YT: This is a gorgeous song, Marty. Great chord structure, beautiful instrumentation and a brilliant sax solo. Thanks, Chay. As I replied on YT, much appreciatd. What I didn't say there was Merry Christmas, Chay. So Merry Christmas, Chay.

Marty,
You've got a lot of Jazzy stuff going on here! You definitely pushed yourself into a new area vocally and it sounds beautiful to me! You did a super job putting this together as well your parts vocally and on bass! I always enjoy your work! Thanks, TB

Nice job, Marty. Kind of a "Quiet Storm Radio" tune. Did you use a notch filter on the vocals? Good lyrics as always.

What could be a brighter song for the shortest day of the year! Janne Thanks, Janne. Really? I'm first of all amazed that you take the time to listen to the album, but never would've guessed this to be a favorite. Wow, good comment on the warmth of love, too. You're the best, Janne. Enjoy your Christmas. Way too jazzy for my taste, but I really liked the lyrics and your vocals. An your production has some really nice little bells and whistles to discover, so headphones are recommended. Thanks, Brain. Man, I bet if I could do those synth vocals as well as you do, this one would sound better for sure. I know you're not big on Christmas, but enjoy this season with my gratitude for your friendship. Marty, you have wonderfully exploited this style to make a great song and always a beautiful video. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. Having no rules to adhere to when writing music (or anything else) gets me into some strange areas for sure. Merry Christmas! Very smooth, Marty. I like this one! Great title. Thanks, Paul. This one was odd right fromt he start. Glad you like it. Merry Christmas!
