I would like to see a mambo style with the proper mambo bass line that is heard most often, where the accents are on the upbeat of 2 and on 4. In a C7 montuno, the bass is playing G on the "and" of 2 and C on 4. In a I-IV-V montuno (major or minor), the bass is playing the IV on the upbeat of 2 and the Tonic (I) on 4.
In Standard songs with changes, the bass plays the root of the chord in the next measure on the 4th beat of the preceding measure, usually preceded by the 5th on the upbeat of 2.
In older style mambos, the accents are on the 3rd and 4th beat, rather than on the "and" of 2.
