i'll probably get some flac (!!) from some pg users but i just dont understand why some do complex installs to various drives.

Not flac(k), just my experience. I've been installing BIAB into custom folders across multiple drives since we've been able to do so. I've never had a problem. That being said, I don't use the automatic installer, but always download the individual installation files and install them myself. My configuration is:

  • c:\Apps\PGMusic\BIAB2025 (and for RealBand c:\Apps\PGMusic\RB2025) - for the main program and associated files
  • c:\Apps\VST\64-bit\PGMusic - for the BIAB VST2 plugin
  • z:\Sounds\PGMusic\RealSounds\RealTracks and z:\Sounds\PGMusic\RealSounds\Drums (for RealTracks and RealDrums) - z: is here I have all my sound libraries from various programs.
