Chloe! Chloe! We (Janice, Bud & Peter) recently discovered on the net an image of a ragged (literally) century old piece of sheet music. Some research indicated it was scored in 1927 (PD world wide). The lyric was hugely different from the typical blues/jazz of the era, i.e, not a “mama misses you papa, please come home” thing.😀 Rather it was dark and moody. Interestingly it’s been rarely recorded with a vocal and most often as a bouncy 1920’s jazz instrumental leaving out the opening 16 bars. Knowing little music theory J&B were taken by how it was written in two keys … C major and the relative A minor. So we with big help from Peter put together an arrangement using those keys, a Janice melody and some lyric tweaking. If you made it this far we hope it works for you, your time to listen is appreciated and comments are welcome. And thanks to PG Music! The lyric is on SC.
