Hello everybody!

Tomorrow I will receive my Audiophile update HD.

Till now I have all RelTracks and RealDrums installed on a different internal HD, inside my computer. I'm OK with this situation and I'd like to go on this way. Now, the file format variation problem, from wav to flac.
So, I'm thinking to do this way:
1) delete ALL the RealTracks and RealDrums on my secondary HD (all wavs, of course)
2) install ALL the FLAC new versions again of all the RealTracks and RealDrums
3) after that, install again all my x-pro and xtra-styles pack and various add-ons

I understand that this way there will be a mix of flac and wav files, but this should not be a problem right?
More in general do you think it's a correct setup?

Thank you!

I agree with Moultipass. Your approach is logical.

You probably won't need to re-install all the styles an add-ons if you install the new program into your existing directory.

With your present installation, at the bottom of the Realtracks and Realdrum pickers, you will find an option that will allow you to create a list of all the R/drums and R/tracks that are installed. You could save a copy of this information and then compare it to your the same information from your 2025 installation. While the 2025 installation will have more items because of the new material, all the previously installed material should be there.

Regards,
--Noel

Thank, Noel!

So, if I understand well, you are suggesting, as an alternative, to install only the new 2025 FLAC files, leaving the old .wavs and going this way to a "mixed" (flac/wav) situation, right?

There would be pros and cons this way...the pro is a much more simple setup, while a complete "ex-novo" setup of the flac files surely would require a lot of time, but on the other hand the occupied space on my hard disk would be much less than now...

Does anyone here know how long could it take the complete ex-novo setup?

Hi Alfredo.

I haven't explained myself well. I'm not suggesting to have both flac and wav. That would take up a huge amount of space and you would gain nothing by having both versions of the file.

1) What I was meaning was based on your plan of deleting the current Realtracks and Realdrums.
2) Definitely delete the Realtracks and Drums folder of your present installation.
3) All the style files that you have added to BIAB should still be present in \bb\Styles.
4) New versions of the Drums and Realtradcks folders will be created when you install the flac files and only the flac files will be copied into them.
5) The full Audiophile installation should have nearly every Realtrack and Realdrum.
6) Once you have installed everything and rebuilt the list of styles, realtracks and realdrums, you will be able to check in Stylepicker if extra styles you purchased are present. If they are, you won't need to install your old files.
7) Also... if you wanted to, before deleting the Realtracks and Realdrums for your present installation, you can create a list of all the Realtracks and Realdrums that are present (if you wanted to have a list of old files to compare against the new files). This is not an essential step, though.

I hope this helps smile

Dear Noel,
thank you for your kindness and patience. Now everything is more clear for me, but surely it has to do with my reading comprehension, since English is my secondary language.

One last question regarding BIAB add-ons...of course I will need to re-install all my various X-Pro ans X-Tra Styles, but what about yearly Bonus-Packs and 49-Packs? I mean, each year, since I can remember, they come with BIAB and/or I buy them...I imagine I will have to istall them all again, right?
Thanks again!

Alfredo,

Your English skills are fantastic. I would never pick that you are not a native speaker.

As far as I'm aware, much of the material that is released in bonus packs becomes available a year or two later. This means that older bonus paks may well be part of the new Audiophile installation. I'm not completely certain of this, though. Maybe you could use the Live Chat to talk to PG Music and ask them.

All the best with your installation!

Yes, Noel, you were right. I need to install only the 49-Pak coming with the most recent version of BIAB. It covers all the previous ones, and ultra-packs. Confermed with the Live Chat. Of course I need to re-install my Loops files too.

Thanks!
