Indeed. I always loved being on stage, in band or even solo, and having an audience that was into the music and enjoying themselves with the band in a "Zen-like" auto pilot mode.
It's being in "the zone" where there is no space, no time, no self, just pure experience. As I've said before, it's the most fun I can have with my clothes on.
