Hi All,

Longtime user of BIAB. Go back to the DOS version in the 90s.

I usually update every 4-5 years depending on the new features added - so, I might be due.

Trying to decide if I should just get the 2025 PRO version for the program udates. Problem is, I'm reading lots of posts about BIAB 2025 not fixing a number of "old" bugs. And I don't really know if I have any use for the newer features. So I might just update to the 2025 Ultra Pak for the new MIDI/Real Tracks/Drums.

There are a couple of bugs that still frustrate me. The inconsistent "regeneration/save" when using RealTracks/Drums. After saving and regenerating a song, BIAB doesn't always play back any changes to Styles correctly. I have to save and regenerate a couple of times to get everything in sync. And I gave up trying to use repeats/2nd endings, etc. years ago. I just enter all the chords linearly from the begining to the end of the song. Have any of these features been improved in BIAB 2025?

I use the program to layout the instrumental parts/arrangement for my original songs, then import the MIDI files/Real Tracks/Drums into my DAW where I add vocals, mix, and season to taste. Using Studio One 6.6.x and 7.x.

Does BIAB 2025 allow you to create a song at 48K sampling rate? I notice whenever I open BIAB, the sample rate on my audio interface (RME UCXii) automatically locks to 44.1K. My projects in Studio One are usually 48/24. So, when I import audio from BIAB, I have to change my Studio One song's sample rate to 44.1K.

So what say you?

I accept that the program is quirky and buggy, but I use it, and for what I do, it meets my needs.

Is it worth upgrading from BIAB 2021 Ultra Pak to 2025 Pro or Ultra Pak?

Thanks,
Danny V.
