Happy New Year!

Roseville Fair is a fairly well known country song written and recorded by Bill Staines in 1979. Since then it has been covered by many artists, including Nanci Griffith.
In 2003, a parody version was written by the late English comedic poet Les Barker and released by Mrs Ackroyd Band for their CD 'Yelp'. Mrs Ackroyd was the name of Les's cat.

So this is a cover of the parody version and all of the instruments are BIAB 2017 Realtracks as follows:

Hanging.Sty - Nashville Drums, El Bass 519, Ac Gtr 522, Ac Gtr 405, Ac 12 str Gtr 1119, Fiddle 618.
Uppity.Sty - Banjo 4616
Cricket.Sty - Banjo 426
Allisr.Sty - Resonator RT408

The vocals are by me and I've added soundbites that I obtained from various free to use online sources.
Finally, the voices of the three 'old folk' are from the free online text to audio website (https://fakeyou.com). There's two Grannies and Abraham Simpson!

It was good fun putting all this together over the last couple of months, and I hope that you appreciate the humour too.
I can assure you that no banjo's were harmed in the making of this recording.
I also recorded a live version of the song in October 2024 at the bottom of our stairs (just me and my guitar). If you are also interested in hearing
this, it can also be found on my YouTube channel.

Cheers,
Andy.
