This is a sweet and obvious track. It’s the way you use music as a metaphor for life that is done beautifully and with the pedal steel really bringing everything all together, making it feel nostalgic and yet new. This is an excellent blend of thought provoking lyrics and a soothing arrangement, a great start for the year! Thanks, Roy. You get it. Blending lyrics and melody is something I pay a lot of attention to, especially now that I'm the singer. Figuring out what phoneme to end the line, and which synonym to use can be sung better with more conviction, can make the song smoother. John Lennon said rephrasing lines to remove superfluous words like "just" was something he observed.
