Rob Helms and I live less than an hour from each other, in opposite ends of the same county nearly two hours directly north of New York City. We have never met, so we are having lunch next Tuesday. Should any others want to drop by, lunch is on me. Just PM me for details.

I half expect John Ford, MarioD, and Pat Marr to drive hundreds of miles and show up 😎 They’ve done it before and we had a great time! So, who knows?

Matt,

Wish I could join up, just to meet THAT group and especially you Matt - I truly mean it.

But I now live in New Mexico and nowadays I can barely walk and I refuse to ever fly commercial again (lower and upper back issues from way too many accidents multiple long stories)

Again - hope you folks have fun!!!

I'd love to come but my wife is having health issues and for now house bound.
Maybe sometime this summer?

Herb, you’ve done this a lot, I know. Thanks!

Larry, I’m honored. Thanks!

Trevor, I will, if you promise to do the same with Noel. 😎

Mario, I’m no longer the headliner in Lake George but I’m the guest artist with the big band that I got to take my band’s place anchoring the summer concert series the last Tuesday in July. This is one of the bands that plays my charts. If you guys are up for it, let me know!

Y'all should come down here for lunch. It's actually unseasonably cold here right now, but there is no chance of snow or frost.

Last time I was in northern Florida in early January, I was the only one who knew how to drive on ice. Freak storm.

Matt,

I'm the one who would be honored.

While i don't participate here anymore, or very little, for a couple reasons. You, as well as MarioD and a small group of others have been around almost since the beginning going back to the previous users group back to BIAB DOS V2.

You and that small group have contributed a wealth of useful and freindly help to all folks. For those whom names I didn't mention its because if I tried to list them all I'd forget a few so no slight is intented.

And it doesn't mean that newer users, say last 10-15 years haven't also helped and been extremely informative and passionate about helping and trying to improve BIAB . It's just that not everyone needs BIAB to be anything more than it was originally conceived for by Peter.

Finally, the other person I'd have dearly loved to meet and miss the most here is Mac! He and are were USAF "bro's" and had some good offline talks about "stuff."

In any case, again I hope whoever gets together enjoys the time together.

Larry

PS - MARIO sorry about your wife's health - I wish her and you the best and my God bless.

Thanx Larry for those nice comments and your concern for my wife's health; hopefully her doc's appointment next week will help get her back to normal, well her normal anyway.

I haven't been here a real long time, at least nowhere as long as Matt and others have been here.

Yea I know you've not been around as long as some. I'm, or was, an Ops Research analyst in my second career (electronics tech guy for 15 plus years prior) and did alot of aircraft operational testing (OT) and am old enough to have been around when we did OT on dirt 😄.

Bottom line: I'm old., forgetful, and was sitting out in the cold smoking a cigar typing on my phones keyboard, which I'm doing again right now, and your name was first to pop into my cold head and hands as I typed. There's Charlie, and Noel and about a score or two of others - some long time folks and some who seem to me to be "long time" folks - like you, I mean that with all respect.

If I had been at my PC instead of this phone I'd probably given a fuller list of folks I've enjoyed here, more than a few no longer with us, and you'd still have made that list.

I enjoy, and respect, 99% of the folks here -old (like me), old users(not nearly as old as me), and a bunch of the "newer" ones (old or young) as well. It is generally a friendly and VERY useful forum.

Take that for what it is worth.

Cigar is finished and so am I

Good luck to all and especially your wife

Larry

Larry, I am also old and forgetful and I have a serious case of CRS wink

I used to smoke cigarettes, pipes, and cigars. I quit smoking in 1975, Today cigarette and pipe smoke turns my stomach, but when I smell cigar smoke I wish I could have one. But I know if I start I would be hooked again so enjoy the next cigar on me.

Mario, I noticed the signature you’re currently using:

Unclear if the pianist is a total beginner or a professional jazz player?

Yeah, I’ve played with a few like that.

I'd be there if I could, but last I checked, y'all are having real winter there. That and and the 1200+ miles. 😊

I accept the 1,200 miles, John, but about winter weather, that’s a bust. First off I’m from the Adirondacks and I haven’t seen a real storm in the 50 years I’ve lived in the Mid-Hudson Valley (where you visited). Second, this year we’ve had about three inches of snow total from three ‘snowfalls’. I think when you moved south from Virginia, you sent Virginia weather up here.
