I am running BB 2010.5 audiophile on external drive, latest updates etc on Windows 7 64 bit. My BB song files are on my computer hard disk.

I will explain the problem with the actual example:

I recently did a transcription of the Kenny Ball Jazzmen hit "So Do I". It has a 16 bar Intro, which is the last 16 of the Chorus, and then a full Chorus, all of which is in the key of F. It then changes key to Ab for the last chorus. I used one BIG chorus to set the whole thing up in F. Then I copied the mouse-entered melody to the last chorus and used the "Transpose Melody" to put this last chorus up into Ab. That changed the chords and notes correctly but of course was showing the wrong key signature. I then used 'Edit' 'Settings for Current Bar' to change the key signature to Ab. Everything played fine and produced excellent printed parts for concert pitch instruments.

Then I needed parts for the Bb instruments in my band and so I used the "Opt" button and in the "Transpose Options", I selected "Trumpet +2". This is what I normally do for tunes that do not change key and it works fine. This time it did not. The notes were correct but the key signatures were all wrong. The only part to show the correct key signature was the lead into the first bar showing key signature of 'G'. Then the first bar showed a key signature of F and therefore one flat (the original key before transposing) and the last chorus key change was shown as Ab, again the original key. All the accidentals were correct for the melody to sound in the correct key.

I tested another song file that has a key change and the same thing happened. The notes are correct by the key signatures are wrong.

I got around it by copying the whole file and then transposing it to the correct key but that procedure is a bit tedious, especially when you also have to accommodate Eb instruments.

I was wondering if anyone else on the forum has experienced the same problem and has found a fix? Is it a bug that maybe needs fixing?

On the other hand, maybe I used the wrong methods to make the key changes?
