Dr Buddy Love is way cool...replacing you on bass would've been taking things a bit too far. Lovely song, sweet narrative, warm, comfy arrangement and THAT VOICE. Loved it. .

Definitely one of my favourites of yours. Lovely instrumentation too.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

SUPERB. Your best? Hard to say, because you've written and sang so many good songs. But, this one ... up there with your very best, if not indeed your very best. More laidback than many of your songs, and incredibly, heartachingly sincere. One day, I'll write a love song like this Until then, I listen and learn Bravo, bravo, bravo, sir. Lend me some of your talent, one of these days, please?

Hi Marty really nice song Great vocals, great melody and great playing these quieter songs suit you very well (is that how you say it ?) ;-) I really like it See you my friend Andi ;-) Thanks, Andi, and, yes, that is how you say it. Yet many use "good" incorrectly there. Heey, Sound Guardians new one is soaring on YT too. Another great achievement Marty. A good start to the year. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. And your start of 2025 with a Western movie theme is fantastic. I like your use of music as a metaphor. Something I can definitely relate to. Good positive song to start the year, for sure. I like the mood of contentment this song evokes. Thanks, Scott. It's nice wanting nothing more out of life than a fine companion and music, the glue. This is a sweet and obvious track. It’s the way you use music as a metaphor for life that is done beautifully and with the pedal steel really bringing everything all together, making it feel nostalgic and yet new. This is an excellent blend of thought provoking lyrics and a soothing arrangement, a great start for the year! Thanks, Roy. You get it. Yeah, Bill, did a fine job, and I like your description of "making it feel nostalgic and yet new." Really nice tune, Marty, I love how your words fit so nicely into your melodies. Because of that, it's always a pleasure to listen to your songs. And nicely sung as well. DId I read where you posted thirty songs in 2024? Wow, that's prolific! I think ten is the best I've ever done. Looking forward to what you have for us in 2025! Thanks, Bob. Blending lyrics and melody is something I pay a lot of attention to, especially now that I'm the singer. Figuring out what phoneme to end the line, and which synonym to use can be sung better with more conviction, can make the song smoother. John Lennon said rephrasing lines to remove superfluous words like "just" was something he observed.

Marty,
Your voice sounds great on this! Your musicianship is stellar (piano, I had no idea you could tickle the keys also) It's a lovely tune that you obviously put a lot of tlc into! It looks like it's getting a tremendous number of plays on SC! Keep up the fantastic work!
Thanks, TB

I really enjoyed your song and video, Marty. The combination of BIAB and real instruments is seamless and the production is excellent. Very nice vocals, and I love the line about writing the greatest song that no one ever hears. We've all been there.

Hi, Marty. If wife/life is interchangeable, can the title also be "This One's for the Bride"? Easy going lyric with an easy going accompaniment. Everything is well played and sung by BiaB, the Doctor, and yourself.

Nice one, Marty! Good song, and love the sound of the pedal steel. Thanks, Dave. Yeah, Bill, always delivers just like a special guitar-playing friend of mine. "This one's for the ride."
LOVE that title! And that idea... Nice life-is-good song, And the perfect man to sing it!
About half way through the song, I was thinking the steel was an amazing match for the song, so I looked back to see what RT that was... Great job, Bill....
Excellent mix.
fj Thanks, tons, Floyd. Can anyone even imagaine life without music? Heck, even Beethoven heard music. Bill is quite good with many different instruments, much like yourself. Oh yeah, music definitely has a way to help us through life and this says it so well:
“I know there's more to life, and you know it too. Music has a way to help us through. It's so much better living life side by side. This one's for the ride.”
“Our song” has been the Animals’ “We’ve gotta get outta this place” due to our regrets of not heading to CO 20 years ago but your song is much happier. 😊
We love the country groove and your vocal fits it perfectly. Also, Bill’s pedal steel is oh so good! Love that snare pop too. And the entire mix is excellent. Wide open with great dynamics … the kind we love.
Most excellent! Thanks, Janice & Bud. You guys are in too good o' place to leave. At first I read CO2. Haha that's funny. I like it Marty. Great feel. Thanks, Paul. Glad you like it. Dr Buddy Love is way cool...replacing you on bass would've been taking things a bit too far. Lovely song, sweet narrative, warm, comfy arrangement and THAT VOICE. Loved it. . Thanks, Ray. I have a lot of comments to share with Bill. Hey, the only one --other than a couple upright players on BiaB-- who I'd want replacing me on bass would be YOU.

Very lovely song. One word came to my mind: "Harmony". Lyrics full of harmony. A story about living in harmony. Musical elements play in harmony. While the world is in chaos, listening to this song brings serenity and sense to it. "Music has a way to help us through", so true. Pleasant vocals and the pedal steel create a heartwarming... or actually more like heartmelting atmosphere A perfect song to end an album, just like My Last Goodbye... but I noticed that it is going to be the first... that is also a perfect choice, because it doesn't really matter from where your album starts and where it ends, because I'll be listening it in an endless loop anyway Janne

Thanks, TB That's what I say, "Thanks, TB." hehe Thanks, Torrey. Your kindness means a lot. Got a gig playing piano in a NY studio once in '69. Eventually the band hired me to play bass. Now if I record keys with both hands, it's one at a time.
