Happy New Year! :-) Long time since last upload. Life has changed, but music is still my heartbeat. The Call Thanks to PG Music for making the best software! Love how it works trying out new musical ideas. Very often the musical quality in the tracks are so good that I keep them for a full production. Thanks to everyone in this forum that listen, make and share the passion for MUSIC! For this song: I sing, play the guitars, bass, organ and have programmed the drums with a little help from RealDrums. Also used RealTracks Bass for some really great fills. Electric Piano is all BiaB. Lap Steel is all BiaB. Sweet sounds, Einar. Extrordinary talent here, man. I like how you use BiaB, picking out inspiration, and the best pieces to add to your already good mix to make it better. Much enjoyed.

A well balanced production and a really lovely ballad with an excellent and dynamic guitar solo break.

Some obvious Pink Floyd elements, but that's a good thing. I like the melancholic mood and the way you use the guitars. Very good. Your vocals fit the genre very well. I would like to have the lyrics, as a non-native speaker I don't understand everything. Most of it I do, though. Enjoyed my listen. A lot!

Sounds like something Pink Floyd would do, "Wish you were here" kind of vibe. And nothing wrong with that in my book Great playing, liked your vocal too. Enjoyed!

Great to see you back.
Cool song. Excellent production. A sound both sparse and full. Nice job on the guitars. Organ sounds great. Good vocals.

Hi Moisenhouse,
Don't think we've met. Nice to hear your music. I really enjoyed this song. It is reminscent of so many good and moody tunes from my past. Your vocals are pleasant too.

Thanks for listening and commenting, Marty, Elliot, WaoBand, B.D. Thomas, Paul, Dave, DC Ron, Laurent, Floyd and BYO Band! THANKS!
And YES, inspired by Pink Floyd. At my age, the "timeless" music of old heros gives me more joy than the new music of today. Guess it's just age. Every decade used to have its own sound, now the trends change faster.
B.D. Thomas: Here comes the lyric:
The Call
Hear them call Voices from the past Hear them howl As the tide turns fast
Call my name The one I forgot The aching shame Of what I lost
Tears of pain Burns like fire Tearing me apart My cry grows higher
Take me home Where I belong Give me peace Love me strong
Hear my call – through the rain Hear my call – through the pain Hear my call – carry my shame Hear my call – shout my name
Have mercy on me

Such a cool mellow and laid back sound. I like the build with the guitar at 1:40+ and the the build dies back down with the vocal. Very effective. Excellent musicianship and vocals.

Love the way this built up to the solo. Chef's kiss, as they say online these days. Great work all the way around.

This is a great example of how you can create something beautiful with a simple, uncluttered framework. There was much “repeating” in the foundation of this track, which excellently served the soloing, the vocals, and the lyric message. It gave it a meditative quality. Thanks for this work.

Hi Einar,
A very good song! Indeed inspired by Pink Floyd, but what a good build up of the song, intriguing!!! Your vocals too. At first very low, but then they shine. I like that Also like the lyrics.

Very creative work! Lovely ballad. I enjoyed your moody voice, the calming band and especially the excellent guitar solo that goes under my skin together with its rising melody. Welcome back, I seem to have liked your tracks already 9 years ago, but I hope to hear and like more in the future Janne
