This is another song from my archives. I first started ‘My Home’ a number of years ago. Just recently, I re-discovered it and thought I’d see what I could do with the latest version of BIAB and some vocals with the Synthesizer-V vocaloids. This is where that thought took me.

♫ My Home

I hope you enjoy listening. Please feel free to comment on any aspect of the song and its production.

Noel,

You write such beautiful music...

This is an excellent ballad. Love the arrangement and how you have used the Synth V voices. So natural and emotive. A real accomplishment.

The mix is also outstanding. Big and clear with excellent separation.

As always, I thoroughly enjoy your songs.

Bob

Excellent work Noel.
Again I miss YOUR voice but the synth one has your phrasing and gives a sense of you.

Noel, super save from the archive! Very nice BiaB arrangement and mix. The vocals have a lot of pleasing dynamics in the 2nd half that really give the song a lift. Very finely crafted all the way around!

Hi Bob.

Thanks heaps once again for taking time out to listen to my work. I really appreciate it. Thanks for your comments, too. I think I'm finally getting the hang of Synth V.

All the best,

Hi Ray.

It's great to see you again. I hope all is travelling well for you up north. Trust me, Kevin sings much, much better than I do. That said, I promise that the next time I post a song, I'll do the singing. At the moment, I'm putting the finishing touches on a song about a tree. Given the speed at which I work, it will probably be a couple of months before I finish it. You'll get to hear it eventually, though.

Thanks for dropping in!

Noel, this song has all the warmth and humanity I have come to associate with your songs. So beautiful, full of emotion ... I love it. Kevin is a great choice for this song, though, like Ray said, I do miss your own voice smile The lyrics are absolutely stunning, of course ... wow. Thank you for sharing this really, really beautiful song with us!

Wow, that's a great piece of music! I even like Kevin! I wrote a song by the same title once, but yours is more of a journey making home all the more precious.

Oh, Noel, keep thinking like that. This one brought your thought to a sensational reality. Cool harmony and a truely glorious sentament. Your home patiently waits. Just such a fine piece of music.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Captivating gentle melody. Synth voice sounds good, although I like yours too. Good choice for the piano. Production is clean and builds well.

A good re-do, Noel.
Sounds like Kevin is covering Noel (and imitating him).

Lovely lyric, melody, arrangement, and an excellent light open mix

Kevin’s phrasing is enough like yours that we can hear your voice too. 😊
The lovely harmony from Solaria had Janice singing along.
They are both well nuanced.

We can see a sailor on deck staring at the horizon in a very contemplative manner.

We always enjoy your productions and this is no exception!

PS. We ride by Janice’s home place often as it warms her heart to remember all the good times there with her family.
PPS: Love the cover art — there are so many similar old houses in our area. We spend a lot of time photographing them.

Noel,

As previously mentioned, Kevin's voice has your personal vocal mannerisms in its presentation.

Sometimes those oldies lurking about turn into treasure when reimagined - particularly when done so with BIAB and your talent.

So lovely and peaceful. You are a true talent!

Wishing you everything good.

Alan

This is a really beautiful and touching song! Lyrics are heartfelt, I really love these lines "This life’s a game of snakes and ladders/That never seems to end/There are times I climb and conquer/And there are times I slip and slide and start again".

The melody and chords are sweetly harmonious and the way the bridge lifts up the mood is fantastic.

The arrangement is very pleasant, each instrument has nicely its own place in the mix.

I can't believe how well you have made the singer sound exactly like you, I almost thought it was really you! Not just the natural flow of the words, but the sound and quality. The female harmony fits perfectly with the male, you've clearly worked hard and it really shows.

Janne
