Hello I gave a friend a license of Band in a Box 2025 Pro as a gift after checking on https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.requirements.htmthat the hardware and software requirements were met for his notebook, an old Toshiba with Windows 7 Pro 32 bit. I then tried in vain to install it. Total failure, even after having repeatedly contacted the support. In the end I had to give up and install everything on a more modern machine. Take-home message: don't rely too much on the declared prerequisites ! Bye Angelo

Windows 7 is pretty old, but BIAB has some of the lowest prerequisite requirements of any good music software I’ve seen. What did Support say? Did they think it should work, or did they say that requirements page is outdated?
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I would also be interested to hear the feedback from PGM,. Windows 7 is quite dated, but there have been significant efforts to keep it backwards compatible. There might be a limit.

Hi you can get a legal update to win 11 latest pretty cheap if you shop around, if the device can handle it

The problem is not Windows 7 but 32 bit. Support said that the last version supporting 32 bit is dated 2021. They should update the requirements page !

Thanks for following up. I thought the 32-bit version of the program was still being installed even now. Some people want to be able to still use their 32-bit plugins.
I could be wrong.

I've just had a look at BBW.exe. When I click on this, it starts BIAB 2024 (1114). This file seems to be left over from my 2024 install. It seems that 32 bit is no longer part of the install for 2025.
