Mike, what do you mean by "non-compliant hardware" please? Gordon there is a workaround that will let you load Windows 11 onto a computer that doesn't have the hardware necessary to actually run Win 11. It can be done but is not supported by MS and most computer experts say don't do it. https://www.howtogeek.com/759925/how-to-install-windows-11-on-an-unsupported-pc/

I don't think Biab would even know what TPM 2.0 is, so I can't see any reason at all that it should not run, I don't think it has issues running any other software.

I updated this PC's motherboard some years back and just put in the old hard drives. It ran absolutely fine except for occasional pop-up 'nags' from the OS that "this PC was made for a newer version of Windows", which I just closed. A couple of years later I accidentally deleted Windows (yes, it was an accident that time) and went to reinstall. I spent weeks trying to do that and it failed again and again with some Windows numerical error, which seemed to have many and varied possible causes, all of which I could either dismiss or I tried to resolve. Eventually, one of the web-search hits suggested it was refusing to install because "The CPU was made for a newer version of Windows". I later learned that I could just install Win10 and use the Win7 licence ... which worked. My new CPU was, however, not deemed suitable for Win11, so I later upgraded the CPU again. AFAICS, this is essentially a scam. Linux runs just fine on almost any platform one tries (Acer laptops are odd). I may sometime try the hack, but for now I'm still aggrieved about weeks of work trying to get Win7 installed where it previously rqn fine.

A machine not running Windows 11 because Microsoft won’t let it and won’t support it after October 2025 Hmm .. at first I was doubtful about that ... "there must be some mistake", but is looks like it may be true. Depending on the present CPU, you may be able to fit a newer part. Try following Mario's link above for a possible workaround. Put in a wish list request for BiaB on Linux?
