Marty, you are right on—no idea at all what this is about!! I really like that approach of “free” lyric writing—I get too hung up by making the story “make sense”—I think can hamper the creativity. As everyone else said, very solid composition, production, delivery—enjoyed it all!!

Masterful rhyming in this choice nugget, I enjoyed it through and through. I particularly like the piano you added, I didn't know you played piano, but I should've figured. Great outing, Marty!

Cool “connect your own dots” tune.
Your vocal sets the mood perfectly.

Nice performances by you vocally and instrument wise.
Your keyboard on the bridge is cool - sounds like vibes.
The sax solo sounds great.

Good ole moody blues wrapped in an excellent mix.

Enjoyed it!

J&B
Haha. I like that "connect your own dots" monker. Thanks, J&B!! I auditioned a few sounds on the Donner and those vibes gave it the right feel for her mixing potions. Moody Blues? Hmm. That's a huge compliment. Those guys are way above my pay grade.

Thanks, Tom. If you knew Bailey, it would've made more sense. wink

Thanks, Bob. That rhyming comment is special coming from a student of The Bard. Yeah, I used to play piano. Now if I add one into the mix, I do it in 2 tracks --one left hand, one right. smile

HAHA. You paraphrased one of the best Lennon quotes. When they landed in NY he was asked about his son Julian. He said something like, "He's five and I want to grow up to be just like him." His was funnier because Julian was younger than John. You are a young buck, Dave. That song-writing-machine moniker belongs to Bob Dean, but you can see why I don't bug you for every one of these, although we all know that any song you're in is far better because of it.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Very cool old time blues with magical lyrics and a warm arrangement. That piano sounds very authentic and the sax adds honey to the mix. Pleasant vocals and bass playing once again. You are obviously an old soul who draws ideas from a deep well of the collective mind. Our beloved wordsmith and melody carpenter has given us the potion that brings us to our knees. I'm happy to stay another season, although I'm still enjoying your previous seasons smile

Janne
Hi, Janne. You and Scott are the guys that often resurrect a song from page two. Most times I'll either reply through PM or read it, smile, and send you my gracious vibes of gratitude. I always figure that not many are like me who come back to read my reply. But your comments are always so... I don't know... real. And you speak my language with things like "old soul" and "collective mind." Seasons come and go, but you are the best seasoning for any of them, Janne.
