B) Just the one at the moment. I've tried a few more without the initial issue of count in going wonky & haven't pushed them into the next stage as I don't want to, erroneously, scar a project. I did get a message, this morning, that the time signatures were different between DAW & Plug so change the DAW to 4/4 instead of 8/4, saved it under a new name, closed it, opened it, added the plug, selected the SGU, song opened, chart opened, then Reaper crashed.
Can you try that with a different song, after making a backup of the RPP first of course?
Can you try with VST2 if you are using the VST3
Excellent suggestion - to get the VST2 version, please navigate to X:\bb\Data\Installers (where X is wherever BIAB is installed), then run the biab_daw_plugin installer - there should be one there that says 7.0.10. When installing, make sure to select Custom Installation then check the box for VST2 64-bit (NOT the one that says VST2 FX). On a later page of the installer there should be a checkbox to install to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 (e.g. Reaper) - check that one and continue. Once it's installed, Reaper should scan it on next launch, then you can find it in the plugins list under VSTi or under PG Music.
I don't know why they don't have just the Plugin Installer for download rather than the massive 500 MB package.
Because the updated plugin always requires the updated version of BIAB, and because it would otherwise be a waste of server storage for the 0.2% of users who want an incomplete installer.
I was going to extract just the vst3 for you to try so you can just swap it.
Please don't, for the reasons listed above.
