Hi Angelo,
factory_stylz1.bin (29/11/2020)
This is an old file, and is why you aren't seeing new styles.
In the SSD bb\Data folder I see the files exe, the full and trial tickets and the NNpredictionDispatcher_on.dll. I see also many stx + sty, st2+xt2 files (years 2016/2017). Is it normal ? What can I do with them ?
No, that's not normal.
- The
bbw*.exe files, NNpredictionDispatcher_on.dll, and *.ticket files should be in the main /bb folder, and not in the /bb/data folder. It shouldn't cause any problems for them to be in /bb/data, but you may want to remove them to clean up the folder (assuming you ALSO have those files in the /bb folder).
- .STY and .STX files should be in /bb/Styles.
- .ST2 and .XT2 files should be in /bb/Soloists.
I'm not sure specifically how you ended up with those files in the wrong places, but it may be some combination of running an old installer / choosing wrong destination folder. I can tell you how to fix this. Follow these steps:
A) Remove/move the files I mentioned above. These are likely duplicate files, so should be safe to delete them. However, instead of deleting, you might just move them to a different location somewhere outside the bb folder, and leave them there temporarily until you are convinced that everything is working, and then you can get rid of them.
B) In the \bb\Data folder, find the BB_Cleanup.exe and run this. This could help clean up any other misplaced files.
C) I have consolidated the 'extra' files in your account. Log into your Products page and download the new installers there that you see at the top. When installing these (and any other Band-in-a-Box related files), choose /bb as the destination for the Band-in-a-Box folder, and also the RealTracks and Drums folders. Of course, add the drive letter appropriate (e.g. G:\bb if your Audiophile drive happens to be G:)
D) Download the 1125e update patch and install to the same location as above.
E) Open Band-in-a-Box and do a Fast rebuild.
It should now be fixed.
