It's sweet that you thought to do a tribute to IZ but your arrangement and production are a million miles from the essence of his recording of the song. A vaguely reggae uke strum and a clear, sweet, high vocal are a simple, yet powerful re-imagining of the old song. I know it would be crass to copy his version and even worse to do it with syrup n strings. Your BIAB skills & mix are good. I would suggest stripping back the mix and find what is essential.

I like it. A lot. Excellent vocals. Beautiful beach and light blue waters in the video. Speaking of which, I am just wondering out loud what a low volume background sound with a light touch of reverb panned wide left and right of the ocean washing up on a beach would add. I think the mix levels are good, but IMO, the mix could use a little more width with such a magnificent video location. I love Hawai'i. I had a client on Oahu and was paid to go there 14 times, one week each, over a 2 1/2 period. I loved that gig!
