Freefall

Did you think I would not see?
Clouded by the subtlety?
The friendly kissing--
There's something missing--
It's clear to me.

The tender looks that once were there,
Now replaced with vacant stares;
A touch so cool
Leaves me a fool who's
Hanging in mid-air.

Got to think we've hit a wall;
Will we sink and lose it all?
Don't you know,
You're leaving me in Freefall?

Sinking fast through silent air,
Falling free without a prayer;
Don't you care,
You're leaving me in Freefall?

Nice opening riff, good song. You might consider joining the Synth V revolution, it would have been great here.

Nicely done! Maybe bring the backing tracks up a bit?

That's a really nice write! And the sax was a treat!

Nicely done. Enjoyed!

The melody is very pleasing to the ear.
I agree the vocal need setting back in the mix a little.

This sounds great.
Nice groove and harmonies.
Very enjoyable song.
PS - I'll take a human voice over a synth voice any day of the week!

I like the rhythm section in this and I think it's the kind of song that if it had real quality vocals - for some reason I imagined female singers - it has the potential to be a corker.

I like this with your voice.
That voice could be massaged a bit but it's real. There's some difference between the room the voice is in & that which holds the band.
Nice work.

OMG, Tom, plese don't go synth on us. I'm with Ray & Mario --being the first time I disagree with TuneMonger. I also wqith a agre with Floyd that is a good write. Sure. one of those AI voices would do it super good, but I even prefer David Bacharach singing than Dionne. Freefalling for this, Tom. On my 3rd listen cuz I kept it on loop while here. Skydiving was fun back when I could, but can't imagine it after hitting a wall.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I like that light cruising accompaniment. Memorable chorus. Nice bit at last part of the song with the repetition of "freefall."

There is nothing wrong the vocal performance, but I agree with Ray. The ambience of the vocal doesn't match the instruments.

Marty and Ezekiel...thanks for listening. In my recent HW upgrade, I lost some of the effect SW bits, so I'm not surprised. I wish I had that good of an ear for it. Thanks!

Hi, Tom.

Nice song!

I think the balance could be adjusted a bit - with the keys in the back of the mix and the voice out front, it sounded a bit more like a demo than a final mix. But it didn't really hurt the song at all.

And I agree that using a synth voice would not be an improvement. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?
