Hi All,

Here's something called DOESN'T MATTER.

Clear the skies clear the decks
I see you coming like a big train wreck
I guess I should have expected you
I know all about Leather Lou
What he did and didn’t do
But that doesn’t matter
Does it to you

You waltz in like a long lost tune
Swaying soft in the half-lit room
Spinning stories and your big schemes
With a jacket worn at the seams
A bag full of stolen dreams
But that doesn’t matter
So it seems

I light a candle let the wax run thin
Watch it pool where your words have been
History lingers like an old rusted dent
But the truth has a sharper scent
And love ain't built on a frame that’s bent
Just the ashes and echoes
Of discontent

Clear the skies clear the decks
I see you coming like a big train wreck
I guess I should have expected you
I know all about Leather Lou
What he did and didn’t do
But that doesn’t matter
Does it to you
No that doesn’t matter
Does it to you

Again, a super ambiguous lyric from you, Bob.
Gets the imagination working.
I love the guitar licks and other instruments when they kick in, too.

Bob, very cool character sketch. Love the acoustic start and when the full band kicks in. The tin whistle was a nice touch, too. The guitar solo and fills are nice, and the volume swells/fades remind me of a "big train wreck". Masterful work. smile

So good, Bob. You vocal is always so engaging. It's like when you sing E.F. Hutton is talking --d'ya remember that commercial? I was so engrossed in your vocal without any recognition of what you were saying that I actually jumped when the guitar came in to interrupt --so appropriately well. Woke me up to the lyrics. When you write 'em, they matter.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nice job.

My only nit is the guitar fill volume levels are all over the place.

Bob, this easily one of your best lyrics. The poetic nature of your writing always inspires me. Whenever I am coming up with something I try to remember to include some of the poetic elements that come so naturally to you. Great job, Tom

Another excellent song and arrangement, Bob, but after the 1st verse the vocals are too low in volume.

Herb,

Thanks. Yeah, the volume effect was intentional to add some variation.

Bob,

This is just so dang good! Loved this, in particular:

You waltz in like a long lost tune
Swaying soft in the half-lit room
Spinning stories and your big schemes
With a jacket worn at the seams
A bag full of stolen dreams
But that doesn’t matter
So it seems

You're a fabulous storybook on two legs. You have some of the best lyrics on this forum. And you have the most unique way with words that just scream , "Ain't this good?!"

You're not just a storyteller; you put the listener square in the middle of the scene. That takes serious talent, and you have plenty of it. You're a musical artist.

Alan
