When you're creating a solo with a RealTrack, understand that Playable RealTracks don't create but they are a valuable tool to help you get the right notes that you need to have for your song to play like you want.
RealTracks can have underlying midi data on the same track as the RealTrack and the midi data can be edited to manipulate the RealTrack to play the exact notes you want. The midi data can be sourced by manually entering the notes and velocity, importing existing data from another song file, or entered by recording a performance. Once the midi data is on the track, highlighted muted regions can be converted to Playable RealTracks and during playback, the RealTrack will mute at the selected regions and the midi Playable RealTrack will play.
A Playable RealTrack uses samples from RealTrack instruments that are recorded at the same time a RealTrack is recorded. They are optimized to be used in conjunction and matched with the specific RealTrack you are editing to create short phrases of specific notes that were not originally recorded in the RealTrack template the session player used to create the RealTrack.
Playable RealTracks were introduced in 2023 and PG staff has steadily increased the quantity of RealTrack samples so more and more RealTracks use samples taken from the actual instrument studio recording. However, all RealTracks can use the RealTrack feature and PG staff have worked to assign the closest match for any RealTrack chosen to use the Playable RealTrack feature.
