What a great sounding track!! Weina sounds perfect for this song. Like the choice of instruments, flutes, and chinese orchestration. Nice mix and production

Janne, I'm so pumped that you used Chinese instruments, I wish more of us would take a shot at them. This was great and I encourage you to keep experimenting. The last verse in particular was outstanding for me. I say that because the prosody was spot on and it was very poetic. Love your exploration, keep it up!

Hi Janne, I always enjoy hearing a new song from you!
Good job as always with the synth vocals.
Nice changes and melody. I enjoyed the instrumentation, including the flute, I thought it complimented the singer quite well. Really liked it when you brought the lead guitar in at 3:00 or so.
Good stuff! Thanks Dave for your kind feedback Glad you liked the flute and the lead guitar introduction, they were really important part of my vision. Janne

Janne,
You post some of the most interesting songs on the forum. This one was a little more "cultivated". Love the East-West aura.
I'd keep the flute where it is, but drop the volume of it as your wonderful singer serenades us.. very nicely composed and presented. You always do good work.
Alan Thanks Alan, your kind reviews always warm my heart I love the "cultivated" part Yep, if I ever touch this song again, I'll unmask the vocal against the the flute. Janne

I think the 2nd voice may be a little too loud: not supporting but competing.
The drum fills may the issue that brings aggression...they are a bit full on in parts.
Cool arrangement & melody. Thanks Ray for your nice and insightful feedback I agree about the 2nd voice, I tried to set it to a softer vocal mode, but I guess it was not enough. Janne

Lovely song Janne. The vocalist reminded me of Shigeki's songs. Very pretty vocal and lyric. I really liked the mix and production. Well done...

Hi Janne,
As many before me, I liked your mix with East and West culture/instruments a lot. I agree it matched in a very good way. So your song is a very good song indeed!
About the singing of the ladies; The thing that came to me was she hardly breathed while singing (I know AI-vocals don't need that, but if you humanize them I think you have to be aware of that. The lines she sing were very long, f.i. take that first verse: (Your blue eyes in the colors of my sky dome, scattered rays of sunlight all over my home, the laughter in your wordplay was the star dust on the windowpanes. I miss that glittering when it rains). She sang that without audible breathing, or?
But beside that, your lyrics are so good, as they always are, like your melody and the instruments you use. I think I said it before, but this is a real Popfinger song.
Hans

I think it's a pretty cool idea to mix the different cultures. That the female singer sometimes needs a bit more space to shine has already been mentioned, but otherwise the mix is pretty good. If a singer can't reach the higher notes properly, I either change the singer or transpose down. With BIAB, that's easy enough! Thanks B.D. for your positive feedback Well, in this case I couldn't change the singer, because the song was made for Weina, Transposing down is not that easy if you have used partial generation to generate a great solo... but I'll keep your ideas in my mind and think about the vocal range _before_ I make the final arrangement. Janne

Very fine mashup of East and West
We always enjoy “connect the dots” lyrics and these are excellent.
Weina’s voice is soft and the addition of Sheena is nice also..
Love the first verse lyric especially. I was watching the light in the kitchen from the sun catcher as I listened. Also love this line: “I only played the strings of your soul.”
Love that Guzheng instrument.
To us this is a nice creative and diferent piece that turned out very well!
J&B Thanks Janice & Bud for your always positive and encouraging feedback And thanks for mentioning that line, it is my favorite and expresses exactly what I wanted to say with this song. Janne

Thanks TuneMonger for your kind words I fully agree with your words about Chinese instruments, hopefully other members on this will hear us. I'm also very happy what you said about the prosody, because I was worried that somebody might complain about it, maybe I managed to hide one culprit that I'm still not happy with... Janne

Janne,
Living in Japan, I sometimes hear traditional Chinese music. Your melody this time is completely Western style. So I felt a little sense of incongruity with the sounds of Chinese instruments. But it's an excellent pop song. I can feel your talent. And It's great that you are taking on so many different challenges. Also, Synthesizer V Weina (lead) and Sheena (backing) are wonderful. You've mastered how to use Synthesizer V. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.
Shigeki Adachi

Hans Thanks Hans, always pleasure to read your insightful comments about my music Glad you liked this song and the mix of instruments. And yes you are perfectly right, those synth vocalists don't have to breathe, at least not yet I guess I should sing the song myself first to find the best breathing points. But I'm too lazy to go into so much details hehehe but I'll try to improve my habits and add more breathing syllables, it is just putting 'br' here and there, afterall Janne, I saw I already replied to your song. And I didn't mention the breathing ;-) I thought I forgot you... You can reply as many time as you like. Or you can freely forget me Janne
