Wow, this is so unique! Great lyrics and well sung. The pushes work really well. A perfect choice of styles. Nicely done. Thanks, Tommy! Have often been accused of being "unique" (or worse), and I've grown to own it. Glad you enjoyed the tune!

This is a rather unusual, but VERY interesting (and good) song. At first I thought I wouldn't like the amount of reverb on the vocals, but it works really well for the song. Good choice. Cool lyrics and I like the way you deliver them Pretty good work from everyone involved PS: it's better to forget a name altogether than to call a girl by the wrong name

Hi, Ron.
Nice pop! A touch of Squeeze.
Nice lyrics, fun melody, poppy sound. Love drums and guitars. Vocals are excellent, as usual.
Sound great in headphones!

Never got her name, but didn't she work in accounting. R.W. Davis is one super lyricist. Man, this is such a good song on so many levels. Words, melody, harmony, and what a sensational mix. Excellent vocals. Everything in there is so well placed. Love it, Ron. Hey, Marty! THANKS for the listen and positive review. Yeah, I'm lucky to have such a great lyricist--not something I could ever do nearly so well. So glad you enjoyed the tune!

Hey this is really nice! Those multi-style styles are always swimmingly good!
This is a very happy and perky little tune, very Indie.
You do this happy Indie perky style very well. Great job!

Cool lyrics and I like the way you deliver them Pretty good work from everyone involved PS: it's better to forget a name altogether than to call a girl by the wrong name Thanks, B.D.! The spatial FX on the lead vocal are 1/16 beat tape delay and plate reverb. I tend to raise the levels until they are a nuisance and then dial them back down slightly. The harmonies are all bone dry, so they "ride" the lead vocal FX. There are a couple of sections where I swear I can hear a harmony effect, but it's the lead vocal. Funny the tricks the ears can play. Glad you like the vocal FX on this song. I'm probably 1% the vocalist of Dusty (our most frequently posted vocalist) but what I lack in talent I make up with...something else. Obviously. Ha! I've got time to redo vocals when needed, so take advantage of that. So what you hear is as good as it gets. THANKS for the listen and feedback. Your P.S. is golden. We have several unposted songs about name confusion, and they definitely skirt through that Danger Zone...

Hi, Ron ...
A truly wonderful song. Love the vocal effects. Your vocal is really strong.
Such an interesting lyric. And you aced the backing tracks! I like the strong bass and drums.
The thought that came to mind as I listened was Gary Lewis and the Playboys, but recorded in the mid 70s rather than the early 60s when they were tearing up the rock airways.
Great song any way you look at it. Every detail tweaked to perfection. Really, really nice!
Alan

Hi, Ron.
Nice pop! A touch of Squeeze.
Nice lyrics, fun melody, poppy sound. Love drums and guitars. Vocals are excellent, as usual.
Sound great in headphones! Ooh, Squeeze is a nice reference. THANKS, David. I did reverse the Difford and Tilbrook-style octave harmonies on the middle verses with the low vocal taking the lead. That's always a cool sound. The bridge also pays tribute of sorts to Glenn's slithery modulations. Love the way he writes. And plays the guitar. And sings... Only my second posted vocals, but I'll take an "excellent, as usual". Of course! I mix on headphones until I get to final, and do try to make the headphone experience enjoyable, so...THANKS for noticing!

Ron, this was great. The whole thing was good, but the lyrics were the star for me. Lot of great images. Vox were fab, too. Knocked it out of the park, as they say.

Great track Ron!
This has a cool funky vibe that I enjoy! Lyrics are excellent! Love the modulation-very effective! I've not had much luck using pushes! They definitely don't capture my vision for tunes! Always sounding wonky and unnatural! I always have to do major surgery on them in my daw! You've pulled off a great sounding tune here that's a pleasure to listen to! Take care, TB

Alan Alan, THANK YOU for the listen and the input. I get the Gary Lewis input a lot (Maybe it's all from you? I honestly can't remember). Am sure I saw them on Ed Sullivan and such, but they were not in my rotation back in the day. On relistening to them, I think they're much, MUCH better than their lingering reputation as a nepo-band, and they had some songs that were quite excellent. SOoo...that's COOL! Truthfully, there aren't that many degrees of separation between what I try to do musically and what Gary and many others try to do with pop songs, which is make them fun to listen to. So if I got this song most of the way to fun, mission accomplished. Really appreciate the positive review. I don't hear the vocal as "really strong", but it's nice to hear you say it just the same. Ha!

I'm obviously a lyric-centric songwriter, even though I don't write the lyrics. All the songs I've treasured over the years had something interesting lyrically, and I really enjoy producing songs that (I think) are lyrical gems. I'm also luck to have a supportive and prolific lyricist. He's the best. Always something to do around here! Glad you liked the tune!

The rear bus technique was introduced (to me) by a David Snyder song post some months back. I've been using it to varying degrees in everything since. It can be seen to the far right in the Console View of my original post. There are many online references on the rear bus technique, and I'd recommend reading/listening to more than one, but one of the most succinct is posted below. .

I'm with you on pushes. Decided I was thinking about it wrong for the purposes of this forum. So I figured out what BiaB can do well with pushes, then added that to my pushes vocabulary. In a way it's really a collaboration, I guess. Have to admit it turned out far better than I thought it might. Glad you liked it!

Great story song with outstanding imagery (we’ve had those similar thoughts about friends from back in the day). “Her blonde hair hit the light Shining off the canopy I can almost hear her Singing like Calliope” Perhaps she’s by herself Reading some Henry Thoreau Lost out by Walden Pond Under the washed-out rainbow” What great rhymes! The band and mix are very good as always. Six guitar tracks? Makes my head spin thinking about mixing that! You said vocals are your weakest area. Hmmm … they sounded really good to us. Regarding the pushes … the creation of them is above our simple production pay grade but they sounded effective/engaging indeed. This is a top of the bar production and we enjoyed reading the back story. We also appreciate the time and effort to gain this result. Well done! J&B
