You have brought up and area that could easily be improved with current code.
From the Mixer there is a submenu under Reat Tracks that shows "Best" options.
What this does is match the Genre, Signature, Feel, Tempo range, and you select a type to narrow it down.
In the Multi Picker Library the same "Best" filter exists to do the same thing.
What PGM fails to do and has been requested in the past is to use intelligence to "auto select the current Instrument" as you are often looking for a variation of a current instrument.
Studio One (latest version), Win 11 23H2 , i9 -10940X 3.3 GHz, 32GB Mem, a 4K 40" monitor, PreSonus Studio Live III Console as interface/controller. secondarily test on Reaper, Cakewalk, and S1 on Surface Pro 3 Win 10 (latest versions).
