This song starts in D and ends in a 2-5 bringing it back to D. In the middle it briefly goes to Bm which is the same key signature as Dmajor. Looks to me like the key signature of D is correct.
Note, bar 7 is more likely Em7 or less likely E7. Bar 8 could be A7 or A7sus. These two measures are a 2-5 back to D.

Had to read the question a couple of times, but I think I get it now. You want the song to PLAY in the key of E, but you want to SEE the chords in they key of D. This right?
Sorry, I don't know the answer but I'm certain someone here will.

Right next to your circled D is a small box. Click on it then scroll down to Transpose -2 semitones.
That is the correct way to accomplish what you are looking for.
However, don't forget to go back to default Concert Key (no transpose) otherwise any other songs you open up will also show the -2 change. That option is not song specific but is instead a global change for everything opened up.
Would be really nice if PGMusic would make it song specific.

Thanx for that update Joseph. I've never used that function so I didn't know it was a global change. That it is a global change doesn't make sense to me but it is what it is.
PS I just went back and changed my setting to concert key.
OK, a random thought; Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

I understand. Based on your suggestions, I have succeeded. To make sure I don't forget, I will repeat my thoughts.
The song itself is in the key of E, but I want to see it in the key of D. To ensure the generated music remains in E, I should first select E. Then, to display the notation in D, I select the -2 option next to E.
I never really understood the meaning here, but today I finally got it. Haha, thank you so much!

Thank you so much for the reminder! This is very important, and I have already started using it. I really appreciate it!

Think like a bluegrass guitar player. We play a lot of what are called "fiddle tunes" where the fiddle player would normally play the song in either the key of A or the key of D as a large majority of traditional songs are played in those keys. Bluegrass guitar players would capo to the 2nd fret and play chord formations as if the song was originally written in the key of G or C. By setting BIAB to the -2 setting allows the chords on the screen to show up in the formations that guitar player would be playing.

So I understand this also, the original question should have been about how to play along using a stringed instrument with the capo on the second fret (making it sound 2 half steps higher). Correct? Write the song in its original key of E, then use the -2 transposition to make it show on screen as if it were in D. Play along and the sound remains in E.
The question is not "Set D and hope to generate E". It's how to write it in E and hear it in E, but see it as if it were in D.

English expression is my weak point. I don't know how to describe some things. But I am very lucky, you are all very considerate. Although we are far away, the Internet allows us to communicate. Although we are far away, we can communicate heart to heart. Even if I don't express it clearly sometimes, I can solve the problem. It's all wonderful. Thank you everyone.

I'm glad it was figured out. i was summarizing what I think is being said here, for the benefit of others who may read this thread.
