I've made money with BiaB since the 1990s.

When BiaB introduced user styles, I wrote some. Since I play seven instruments with different levels of competence/incompetence, took arranging in school, and had a lifetime making a living as a pro musician, it seemed like fun. So I plugged a MIDI keyboard into my Atari computer and made over a dozen.

I shared them with my musician friends, who said they liked my styles better than the BiaB built-in styles (aren't friends great?). I tend to think of them as filling in the holes PG hasn't addressed, thus adding pleasure and value to BiaB rather than competing with the wonderful work PG does.

So I took out an ad in "Music & Computers" mag, advertising them for the Atari. Later, I got a phone call from Peter Gannon who offered to convert the Atari disks to IBM DOS format, because that's where the bulk of his sales were. I thank Peter to this day for his kindness. (IBM format is now called PC or Windows.)

I now sell 31 Style e-Disks , 51 Fake e-Disks , plus BiaB aftermarket products from Roy Hawkesford, David Bailey, and Sherry Mayrent.

I call them e-Disks because when I started they were on 5.25 and 3.5 inch floppy disks.

I've sold them to happy musicians all over the world

Oh, it's not enough to make me rich. I keep my prices low because I know musicians don't get paid a lot. Plus I have to pay the "silent partners", Shopping Cart, Credit Card authorization company, Credit Card or PayPal percentage, Web Host, people I subcontract some of the work to, business bank account, insurance, and others.

My main occupation is still as a professional musician (sax, flute, wind synth, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals) and the BiaB venture makes enough so I don't have to travel to gig during the slow gigging season (August to mid-October).

I have happy, repeat customers from all over the world, and I really enjoy creating style and fake e-Disks. And I'm happy knowing others are enjoying my work.

Plus, I've made a lot of friends with this venture.
