Since I prefer MIDI styles due to their ability to be edited, I export to MIDI and then get rid of the unwanted rolls by copying and pasting an appropriate bar without a roll.

There are literally thousands of things you can do with MIDI that you cannot do with prerecorded audio.

With a good synth, they will sound at least 90% as good as the audio, and IMO, with the increased editability you can make the final product sound much, much better.
