bowak.

im heavy into mini pc now.
had no probs...ryzen.cpu...storage...m.2 etc. very low.internal microsound latency....see my tips in pg tips forum...acquiring a pc..for a link to a web site that tests internal microsound latency
as well as a link to latency testing software.
the biggest mistake ive seen from helping daw users over the years is people often get any old pc so they sometimes get probs.

my new pc boots into win and bb and rb in just a few secs.
but ymmv im not a believer in zillion tracks and plugins that bring a pc to its knees....im a believer in as i was told in a big studio once...if the songs good...you should be able to do it with 40 tracks max !...lol.

in summary...the type of pc you need will be dictated by your needed max track and p!ug in counts as well as are the plugins needing heavy pc resources....??
i took a flyer on a mini pc from amazon for peanuts...because i had 30 days to test it out and return it if unhappy....i kept it as i was rather impressed by its capabilities.

if your open minded with modest needs re tracks and plugins like me check out geekcom and beelink and other mini pc builders.
most importantly get a decent usb audio interface with ultra low latency...see pg tips forum again...a looongaudio interface thread.

i dont recommend specifical pc components eg mainboards or pc systems etc etc cos production runs and tech is so changeable and i dont know yourmax track and plugin needs.
what might work for me might not for you.

would suggest like me you get a 30 day pc return thus giving you testing time with your apps.
i recommed m.2 plus processors with high single thread performance..eg above 3000...see passmark web site for performance tables for each processor.

happiness.
