The only way I know that my M1 and M2 have fans is when I run a diagnostic utility that tests them and they run full for a few seconds.

Both are way overkill for everything I do except video editing where the GPU horsepower comes in quite handy, especially my M2 Ultra. Had I waited a year, I could have bought an M4 Mini Pro and saved a couple thousand dollars. Oh well… glad I didn’t wait because of the work I was able to do during that year but still…
