"undefined external error" states it is an external error.
Meaning PT has in issue communicating with some other item (external)
As JM said, likely your interface doesn't have drivers that PT recognizes.
At least that is my first guess.
Or maybe they just aren't selected correctly in the Options-Preferences-Audio-Drivers area ..
That's where I would start.
Or try a newer version of PT; 2017 wasn't designed for W11 since W11 didn't exist at the time.
2025 should be out in the next few months, going by past years release schedule.
