om, super song! Love your boldly English vocals and the bouncy arrangement. No BiaB in this version, right? The drawbridge does indeed go up and down...

Well, that song just bounces around. How could someone listen to this and not tap their toes as they're tapping their toes?

A most enjoyable listen. Nice vocals and great arrangement. Thanks for as few minutes of pure fun!

It's great to hear you on the forum again.

Best to you.

It was very refreshing to hear a sort of cockney accent in the vocals for a change. Even tho the chord progression was a simple and a very used one, it served the purpose. I got some warm flash backs of my favourite new wave bands of 1980s, specially in the chorus. The low budget didn't bother me at all. Keep on producing this kind of honest and different songs.

Thanks everone.

i will only keep the song up on soundcloud for a few days as it
brings back so many family memories and emotions when i play it.
it was meant to be a very honest song.

if one listens to my other songs in my sig on scloud i use various vocal
stylings depending on what the song calls for.
one might be crazee hard rock vocs and the next mild ballady vocs.

i just enjoy the challenge of vocals.
(fyi..i'm originally from london uk....in the same week once i was singing in opera, then a hard rock group then a punk group....lol.
so of course one uses the vocal style for each.
i love all sorts of music genres.)

thanks for the listens and your comments.
they mean tons to me.

ps..i havent been on the showcase like in the past because of various family commitments. sorry about that.

happiness.

Sounds old, but in a good way. I'm guessing 60s or something, but I'm no expert.
Reading that you're able to sing in different genres, your vocals here fit the song perfectly.
Very well done!

Big studio standards do not guarentee a good song. This one is good in any studio. Love that chorus and you lead the verses to them. Excellent accompaniment throughout. Man, I love this, Alf. On my 2nd listen now. It's a song that should be played over and over on all buses everywhere to encourage passenger engagment. Yeah, the whole wolrd would be a happy place and bus companies woud thrive with folks just jumping on for a lift to there day. Thanks for giving us a free pass.

Enjoy whatever happens!

This was quite enjoyable. Like others, your accent fits the song really well. This reminds of a song Ringo would get for his spot on a Beatles album. Too bad he's gone country. I like the song and performance.

Thanks BD and Babu and Charlie.

heres some inside info fwiw.
in case there are any lurkers thinking of buying pg's powertracks
(ptw)..which i still consider a heck of a deal.

when doing london town i was developing lots of song ideas in ptw and at the same time useing various commercial recording studios who were gobsmacked with what ptw could do for a peanut price.
often they just didnt know about it.
(i think pg need more visibility in various media eg sound on sound.)
in essence ptw saved me oodles of dollars and thus allowed me to book more time in the commercial studios due to cost saveings.
i had nothing budgets...lol....ptw saved me a bundle.

the song i just had to get out of my system.
and was an expression of my inner feelings.

i'll leave the song on scloud for a couple of days.
thanks once again.

ps i wish i had Ringo's money...lmao.

happiness.

Thanks for your comments and welcome back.

unfortunately i cant be on the showcase much as ive been busy with family of course plus testing out software and hardware and occasionally i like to post various tips on the pg tips forum hopefully to help new users to pg.

right now also im awaiting a product thats under 100 bucks to test out how good it is for a project studio with little money.. and then if i like it post details on the tips forum.

as to Red Buses. as you know london is full of them...lol.
keeps london moveing. the song was a comment about life.

one thing i hope people picked up on was the lyric 'a million or a farthing..'
etc. it was a comment that came about because i knew people working crazy hours
and forgetting to have enjoyment often along the way.

fyi ive recently uploaded on scloud a song 'old folks sleeping in the streets' which details how concerning it is to many folks includeing myself elderly social problems.
(i also uploaded 'crazee rock'...a crazee rock song i had fun with lol....and Raceday complete with car effects...lol.)

i wish you the very very best. youre a great talent and your comments really
make me happy.

happiness.

This definitely has a great tight and controlled studio sound! It sounds great!
It's a very good sounding track that has a very memorable chorus!
The message is sad, but the melody and beat has an uplifting feel to it!
I'm always a fan of your vocals!

Take care, TB

I remember the red buses very well, especially no. 220 and no. 7. I lived in Acton for about 22 years from the age of 4.
I don't miss the smoke but it's nice to hear that accent again.
What a jolly, jumpy ride you created.

Torrey and Vicarn.

the comments on this song are very much appreciated....as are all the other comments in this thread.
cos i just wasnt sure about the song.
so i just dont know what to say except thanks so much for listening.
it makes it all worthwhile.

as i said the song wasnt done in a elite world class studio with megabucks in gear and amazeing outboard i could never afford costing more than my house...lol.
the comments have encouraged me to keep it up for a bit longer.

for fun this year i'll load a song up on scloud that was done in a elite studio.
(these folks charged me peanuts and were extremely wonderfull to deal with.)
ive never had big budgets obviously and thus was elated when i started useing
PG apps given the great results i could get for not a lot of money.
fyi...my wife would buy me the pg upgrade as my xmas present each year.

Vic.
PS...do you miss the fish and chips, and the 99 cones in summer...
yummy lol.

happiness.

I agree with Charlie as I could hear Ringo singing this.
Loved it.

BYOBand...Mario..and Elliot.

well im lost for words as i thought the song might be panned roughly as it dealt with the cycle of life and my emotions.
thus i was only expecting to keep the song up for listens for a couple of days. sincerely im humbled by all the comments on the song.

so WOW...thank you sooo much for the listens and comments.
as you know doing songs is a ton of work.

for a bit of fun if anyone is interested and to show that budget gear can often hold its own with regard to the big boy toys...
see if you can spot on my songs which vocs used a megabucks mic and which used little known under 100 buck mics.
i have trouble hearing the diff as do friends and the normal music consumer. budget gear has got soooo good.

To Elliot...re your question.

every song on my scloud involved pg products in some way..
depending what the song calls for.
also what baffles people a lot they think its different singers...
whereas in fact i sing in different voc styles depending on the song.

specifically songs on scloud that used lots of rt's//rd's//etc etc

..Banker Man..a bluegrass song.
..The stallion rock song.
..RaceDay about raceing hot cars.
..Coastal Highway about taking ones love along the coast
in ones favorite sports car.
..Grandad about when i was young watching my favorite soccer team play
with my grandad.
..Pretty Girl about my wife. (MOR i would say.)

If you want a bit of laugh at my expense give crazee rock a listen.
its about this crazee lady into heavy heavy rock i once dated in the mad phase of my life singing in rock.. when i think about the crazy things we all do at various phases of our lives...lmao.

thanks once again everybody.
the greatest respect to you all and your talents...seriously.

happiness.

Had to go peak at your other tunes. Very Dire Straits...as I listen to Coastal Highway. I really like how expressive your voice is with the sing/talk portions. Makes a tune very relatable and conversational. Nice harmonica too. And now Pretty Girl (I was curious about your wife). It's a good, bouncy tune. Was it the on bus one that someone mentioned Ringo (I was listening to so many songs yesterday I might be mixing myself up!)? I'm hearing that here.

Regarding the mic challenge, I'll leave that for someone else. My ear is not very technical. I'm more into mood, melody and lyric.

Hey OM, good to hear you again. I thought this was great, very catchy, and a lot of fun. Reminded me of the Kinks during their "Ducks on the Wall" phase. Great work.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
