+++ HERE +++ is a blog by Pete Brown who is one of the lead developers for Microsoft Windows. There is some really good information about how Microsoft is trying to make Windows more friendly for musicians.

To my understanding, one of the most significant items in the list is that ASIO will be integrated into Windows.
While powerful modern computers handle audio latency pretty well, this should make things better even on entry level machines.
