Hi Brian!
I notice you have 27 members for your FB page now, so obviously some interest. I think it's a great idea and could see that someone without production skills or kit or band would jump at a AUS$100 fee to hear their song arranged and produced.

It leads me to some questions ...
- You mentioned the customer would phone record or send a recorded demo - the question is whether this is enough to provide the BIAB producer with tempo, genre (style), song structure etc, soloing options, texture/song layering, rests/stops. I am thinking a one page questionnaire might help the customer specify what they want?
- In terms of style selection, maybe the customer could specify 'Sounds like [artist/song]'?
- In addition to style selection, instrumentation choices might be applicable - or for such a low fee, are the terms the customer accepts the standard instrumentation?
- To aid the above, it would be easy enough to input a few of the chords into A and B section with (say) up to 4 styles demo'd into small mp3 samples for the customer to choose from - minimising the upfront effort and getting the style right.
- the fixed fee would need to specify how much 'back and forth' would be tolerated (if any) before additional fee(s) were applicable?
- Inviting customer testimonials to the FB page, and diplomatically/fairly moderating 'product reviews'.

I guess the above questions are along the line of 'what the customer expected vs what the producer delivered' and avoiding any misunderstandings.

All in all, a fantastic idea and it will be interesting to see how it takes off.

Andrew
