Hi Tributeman,
BIAB doesn't allow partial re-generation. As Dan has indicated, if you load your BIAB file into Realband, you can cut, copy, paste and even piecewise generate solos. Realband is exceptionally powerful in this regard.
Another alternative is to simply re-generate the Soloist (for the entire song) until you stumble onto something you like in all places of the song. When you get that melody that "works" for you, save it and the Soloist will "freeze" (which means that it will remain static and not change even if you re-generate the song).
NOTE: To get the re-generation of the Soloist to work, it will be necessary to "unfreeze" the Soloist track. If you have save your song with the Soloist in place, BIAB will automatically freeze the Soloist track.
