I think you have fairly accurately described the entire process. You mentioned "import into BIAB", but not what was imported. I'm presuming that this was audio that was then processed through the Audio Chord Wizard (ACW), which interpreted the chords. You can also simply enter the chords of a song (if known). Then you just need to choose a style to match the song.

As a further tip, BIAB has a fairly powerful mixer and other effects capabilities, and RealBand might not actually be required, but can always be used if needed.
