These are less the building blocks of melody, and more a list of melodic embellishments. Which, by themselves, don't really mean much. Trust me, I've tried building music that way.

I guess I've used a lot of these “blocks” already.
If I had known I was using them, I probably never would have written the songs the way I did because I probably would have gotten lost in thinking about what I was actually doing.
But maybe they would have been better...

I think these building blocks are a good starting point, but the best melodies often come from just letting your ear take the lead rather than overthinking every detail.
