Here's one I did a long time ago then recently redid with Marty Straub (Babu Music) Marty is playing bass and did the redo of some of the drums on EZdrums. I'm on pedal steel, vocals and keyboards. Hope you enjoy it.

Style is _FPKD190.STY (Dreamy Fingerpicking)
RealTracks in style: ~~544:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dreamy Ev 165
RealTracks in style: ~~407:Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 165
RealDrums in Song:BrushesPop8thsSwirl: a: Swirl Tap b: BrushesPop8thsSwirl

Who was said they cant be broken
Who was it said they never lied
Well truer words were never spoken in alibi

Sarcastic with familiar faces he's spastic on a can of beer
He fears you'll never see the traces of him being here

On the rampage on the make Romeo in second place
Trying to stay 10 feet tall. Turns a tear to a waterfall

But hey hey Mr Caulfield where do we go from here
Hey hey Mr Caulfield

Who was said they cant be broken
Who was it said they never lied
Well truer words were never spoken in alibi

Sarcastic with familiar faces he's spastic on a can of beer
He fears you'll never see the traces of him being here

Lacks the backbone for a fight Makes a million overnight
Shady Amy said it first could be better cant be worse
But hey hey Mr Caulfield where do we go from here
Hey hey Mr. Caulfield
Hey Mr. Caulfield
Hey Mr. Caulfield

Excellent song! Good writing and I like your vocal too.

Loved hearing the pedal steel in there, and can't go wrong with Marty as part of the team.

Enjoyed!

Bill, This one has a 60's sound to my ears. I liked the lyrics and the vocal and harmonies are very well done. As far as I know you are only one of three to ever post something here with live steel (myself included). Welcome to the club! I just finished reading the Buddy Emmons biography by Steve Fishell. Highly recommended. I enjoyed the song, Tom

Super nicely constructed, hook-filled gem. Don't see an accordion in the credits, but something that sounds like an accordion really sets a cool harmonic table. Really nicely arranged vocals, too. Hearing a little distortion in the thicker harmony lines, nothing catastrophic. Nice one!

Hi Bill,

Great song with a full soundstage. Love the story in the lyric and your vocal sells them quite nicely.

I totally enjoyed my listen. Great stuff! Can't go wrong with Marty lending his expertise!

Take care,

Alan

Having Marty on board is always good - for any song smile
Your vocals have a nice 60's sound, the band has a nice 70's sound, which works quite well.
Good work from all involved [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

My file for this cool song is called Hey, Mr. Bill. Hats off to anyone thinking of SNL. Bill, what a terrific song referring to a terrific, iconic book. Man, if Salinger would allow the movie production, this would be a great theme song. Back in the 60s I wrote one called Catch Her In The Eye. You've done so many cool pedal steel tracks on my songs, and I really enjoyed playing on many of your cover songs on YT, but I am also looking forward to some of the collab ideas we have cooking.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Really nice production on this song. Love the keyboard and great vocals, too. Really enjoyed it

Bill and Marty, you did a bang-up job on this song, everything sounds great.
I liked the vocal and lyrics a lot.
Great mix.
This does have the sound of a late 1960s song - great job on that.

Thanks Tommy, I did a whole "album" (do they still call them that?) playing steel with Marty. This one is from that project. Gotta get that Emmons book and find out all the secrets.

Thanks Ron. Good eye. Yes there is accordion there. It is a BnB real track but the memo is not showing which one. It took lots of regenerating to get it where I wanted it. The strings are Native Instruments samples.

Thanks Alan, We have been working on a few more since Marty has been convalescing. I live nearby so it's easier than posting files

Thanks B.D. I've been playing since the 60's so why change now. Marty and I have been jamming for 30 years or so. It's telepathy now
