Funk city

Funk City, an after hours jam, i.e. just having fun.
I am in the middle of a computer mess but I took some time just to have some fun.

BiaB style - Reno MIDI Slow Funk Fusion
Piano - Kontakt - Band - Wurley EP
Drums - various SSD-5 kits and Kontakt percussion
I deleted all other tracks.

I am playing:
1- My Squire P Bass
2-My Kramer NightRider guitar
3-via my keyboard controller the Arturia B3 and Kontakt's Pure Jazz Vibes
4-via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam Alto Sax

As always all comments are welcomed

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

Man, your performances were ace .... all of them.
That funk bass nails the bottom end.

Every genre you jam around in sounds like you gigged that style for years.
Maybe you have.:)

Fun!

Mario - that wasn't Funk City, that was Funk State (Funk Province for the Canadians) or even Funk Nation! Best bit for me was around 1:10 shocked when the electric and organ came in. Good stuff!

Ah, B3. Now I get it. When that organ comes in...man! Cool. That little call and response with the vibes section was pretty groovy too. All around fun walk through the city.

Thanx so much Janice and Bud. Being in a wedding band for many years has exposed me to all genres of music. You can say that I am a jack of all trades but a master of none.

Thanx Andrew. I love a B3! The best non wedding band I was in was a trio, a drummer, a B3, and me on guitar. We played a lot of jazz and pop material. We had a lot of fun gigging but not so much moving our equipment wink

Cool! Funky! Invigorating!

The bass and B3 were the selling points for me. The vibes were nice, too.

Always good stuff from you. You know how to make music sing! Your talent is top shelf.

Sly and the Family Mario! This DOES sound like a lot of fun, and all the playing is super. Bass is cool, but your melodic theme is a real grabber as well. Crisp mix, too. Very creative and infectious (the good kind). Super bad!!

This instrumental mix certainly puts the fun in funk. I love all of the variations in the solos as all hold one's attention and it's nothing but a fun and captivating musical experience. Really enjoyed it.

Man, I've been thinkin' of ya and your computer woes, Mario. With this one I can envision the packing for the new computer strewn about the place, and you just had to get in there and play. Wow, well done, too. Fun jam indeed. Love this from front to back and my absolute favorite part is your bass. Man, this is like you never left, but I'm so glad you're back.

Enjoy whatever happens!

One man band meets Band In A Box. Scary, but fun!
Mario,
Cool jam track and display of skills. I like everything, except I felt drums are a bit too repetitive. Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoyed this! The sax felt like it had that extra oomph that really sealed the deal for me for this kind of song. Awesome job. smile

Thanx Ron. I do like to have fun and if music wasn't fun for me I would quit! I'm glad you didn't call my band Mario and his Family's Stoned!
