I agree with your practical approach to all 12 keys. I'm just one of those weirdos that enjoy the challenge, and even though I might not ever play a particular tune in one of the less popular keys, I find the practice overall good for ear training. That's my ride.

I just recently picked up iReal Pro and I agree it's probably more practical for this, though I prefer the sounds and customization that BIAB provides so I've been trying to make this work. I also have a good collection of BIAB realbook tunes and it's nice to be able to toggle the melody and see it in notation.

I used BIAB quite a bit in 2008 and after a 16 year break(!) I'm back with version Mac 2024.
