Well lets roll back the tape to before those laws that are violated were in existence.
Artist writes song and sells said song to a performer who then cuts a record. Writers been paid. Done deal. performer sells records and gets paid. Done deal. Sheet music is sold. Done deal. If in all of the above transactions enough money was charged for the products you wouldn't have to charge some little musician,or actually the club, cause I'm playing some cover tunes and making $50.00. This whole royalty thing is just a subtle way of extorting more and more money from more and more people. When you buy a guitar you pay a fair price for it and the transactions over. Just think if you had to pay a royalty each time you played it.
Like it or not that is the present system and it needs to be changed.
