Really good on all levels, not a thing to fault with this. Reminds me of some group but I can't place it at the moment. You did a great job, congrats!

Hi, Ron. You do good pop - something I wish I could do. I've got nothing negative to say here - I like the lyrics, vocals, and arrangment. It's all good.

Clever. I love your band...the sound is so round and full. Your voice sounds good to me. I wasn't sure about the phrasing at first, but it got really catchy to my ears. Thanks, Beth! Yeah, I'm just not a good vocalist in general, but sotto voce is my biggest Achilles heel for sure, thus the somewhat mannered phrasing. But if I got you to "catchy" I'm WAY over the moon. :} Appreciate the listen!

Great song! Love that rhythm section, plus I think you've done incredibly well on the vocals and harmony vocals. Also a brilliant theme re the lyrics. THANKS, Chay! Yep, there's a song inside each of these lyrics...if I can find it! Glad you enjoyed the tune.

Hey DC,
This is a great. A great song. Love the lyrics. Very classic indie lyrics and song structure. I have some production ideas and thoughts on the build if you want to hear them offline. I always like to ask first. I hear great potential in this. P.M. me anytime.
Nice!

I like that. A lot! Cool lyrics, cool arrangement and production, and I really like your vocals and harmonies. I would probably reconsider going down on the last 2 words in the chorus. It works perfectly in the verses, but I think going up at the end of the chorus would fit the upbeat nature of the song better. It's a matter of personal taste of course, and the song works _really_ well as it is now, so I wouldn't lose too much sleep over my suggestion

This is my kind of song with 60s and 80s flavoring. I agree with you on the BIAB style. I have to use it some time. Your vocal sounds good and so does the secondary vocal. Excellent lyrics!

I'm liking this one alot. I like the line about "self doubt". I think we all feel that from time to time.
One of these days I'm gonna have to try and write a lyrics. Not sure if I will ever attempt to sing. So much more difficult than just playing a saxophone.

Very cool. Ron. Your vocal is really well done, and I like the high guy too. Fun lyrics and I like the sing-along melody that chops up the words in a way that provides suspence. I like it a lot. Yeah, those synths are tough to beat, but I still prefer the real you. Thanks, Marty! Yeah, you caught me on the "high guy" falsetto harmony. By the time I realized how high that part was it was too late to turn back. Glad you liked the song! Doubt I'll ever use a synth vocal, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just too stubborn. Ha!

This is a really professional sounding song, well written, well sung, well arranged, well produced. Reminded me of Pixies, maybe the heavy guitars in the chorus and the strong chord progression...
The lyrics are great, universally relatable and feels like written from the heart! "You can hear me/Tryin’ to say somethin’ more/Random words like/Puzzle pieces on the floor" and "Please don’t leave me here for dead/I gotta live my life in colors other than blood red", clever songwriting!
Enjoyable melody, that "speak to me" is really an earworm.
The BIAB style fits perfectly with the message and those instruments are mixed so well with the vocals, everything sounds very balanced. Excellent singing with perfect harmonies, you have a great voice... and yep, that ending is great!
Janne Janne, thank you for the nice review! Yes, my lyricist is really gifted, and I'm lucky to have such good material. Pixies are a flattering comparison...LOVE them.

Hi Ron,
Think I'm a bit late on the party. I read all the posts on your song and they reflect the things I had in mind to write to you! Good song, nice lyrics and good vocals, especially when you double them (I believe Dave said the same). Only at the beginning of the song your vocals were a bit harsh. At least, I heard that. But only there. Haven't heard it during the rest of the song! I listened a few times, and must admit, now this song stays in my head for some time. Like how the guitar goes 'down' at the end of each verse. So, like it a lot!!!
Hans

I’m guessing that the whole point was to create a backdrop for your vocal “expansion”, and using a simple style with lots of repetitive elements was an excellent choice. From the listeners POV my attention was clearly focused on the vocal, which is what I think you were after. I esp liked the octave unison singing. Thanks for doing this, it is a motivation for me to try harder on the vocal side of things, and I really enjoyed listening! Yep, think that sums it up. The dynamic flow is controlled by the vocals and the stereo electric guitars. The vocals go from solo to harmony 3rds to harmony octaves to doubled lead vocals. Only in the final chorus (and the outro) are there more than two voices. The stereo electric guitars are off on the verses and on for the choruses and outro. It's all really simple but are examples of approaches that can be effective in creating interest and building dynamics in contemporary song forms. When I'm going to post a vocal I do spend more time getting the right take, correcting mistakes, addressing sibilance, etc. Figured if I'm going to ask folks to listen I can at least make it as pleasant as possible. Ha! You've got a really nice voice, especially for the genres I hear you posting, and excellent phrasing. Am looking forward to hearing more from you.

This was good. Catchy song.
I just enjoy it. It had a British pop style Thanks, Herb! I am a hopeless Anglophile when it comes to music. Not surprised if some of that leaded out. Ha!
