One More Chance

Been a while since I posted one.
This was our attempt at writing in the style of a jazz “standard”.
Leon wrote the lyrics and I played some guitar.
Janice provided the excellent lead and backing vocals recorded by Bud, who mastered the song.

One More Chance

They say an old dog
Can’t learn new tricks
Some things are broken
Just can’t be fixed
Come on, honey
That’s not your style

Give me one more chance
To make you smile
Give me one more chance
To make it right
Don’t give up on us
At least without a fight
I know this love of ours
Still can be repaired
Please don’t throw away
All the good times that we’ve shared

They say a leopard
Can’t change his spots
But on that subject
I’ve got some thoughts
My true colours
Are yet to be revealed
That broken heart of yours
I believe it can be healed

Give me one more chance
To make it right
Don’t give up on us
At least without a fight
I know this love of ours
Still can be repaired
Please don’t throw away
All the good times that we’ve shared
