Latest from Chris, Marty, and me:

Audio only link at the end of this post.

The Band:

I normally don't use many BIAB guitars, prefer to do that myself, but ended using four for this song eek

2494:Piano, Acoustic, HeldChords 120
509:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dire Ev 120
405:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120

853:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm NashvillePopDirty Ev 120 (see Note)
699:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm ElecRockDirty Ev 120 (see Note)

Christiane (Chris) Spruit did the vocals

Marty Straub (BabuMusic) did the (amazing!!) bass part

I'm playing the lead guitar parts and did a BGV.

I used EZDrummer3 to build the drum track.

Mixed in Reaper with plugins from Waves and iZotope. Mastered with Ozone 11.

Note:
I used two instances of these realtracks, one regular and one held chords.
For realtrack 853 I didn't like whatever amp he was playing though so I used the direct out option and played it through my amp sim (S-Gear)

Stuck in this Place (2025, Chris Spruit)

Woke up in a town that's not my own,
In a place where nothing feels like home.
I don’t know where I am,
No street here has a name.

The faces all around me,
They’re speaking words I don’t know.
Is it a dream or a nightmare?
Can’t tell where I’ll go.

The sky is dark, but the sun won’t set,
A million voices, I can’t Forget.
The air feels heavy, but no thunder breaks

I’m stuck in this place

The ground beneath me starts to shift,
Whispers say, "You're adrift."
No familiar traces left to find,
Just echoes of a restless mind.

The sky is dark, but the sun won’t set,
A million voices, I can’t Forget.
The air feels heavy, but no thunder breaks

I’m stuck in this place

Every step feels like I’m falling slow,
The Wind beneath My Wings, they don't blow………..

[SOLO]

[OUTRO]
Every step feels like I’m falling slow, I'm stuck in this place
The Wind beneath My Wings, they don't blow, I'm stuck in this place

I try to scream but the sound won’t leave,
Caught in a place, I cannot breathe,
Every turn I take, there's nowhere to run,
Every step feels like I’m falling slow, I'm stuck in this place

The Wind beneath My Wings, they don't blow………..
The sky is dark, but the sun won’t set,
A million voices, I can’t Forget.
The air feels heavy, but no thunder breaks

I’m stuck in this place

I prefer people to check out the videos 'cause lots of work goes into them, but understand that some prefer audio only wink

Really good job. The mix is professional.

I hear you on using the BB guitars. I like to do my own as well but there's times when I'm just lazy or frustrated with the results and using the BB real tracks are the solution to getting the song finished.

I like the song

Dave, Chris & Marty,

Wow! A new favorite for me! What a great song and sound. It's so good to hear Chris again. The instrumentation and production on this is stellar - completely pro all the way.

The video is excellent. I understand how much work goes into making one of these. Just great all around.

Love this!

Bob

Superb song on all levels: lyrics, vocals, instrumentation, mix and production. Can say no more.

Superb job by all! The highlights are in the very human vocals, bass and lead guitar, but y'know...the BiaB parts really work perfectly well. Especially effective use of the held piano. Couldn't pick out all four of the BiaB guitars but agree they are sometimes all you need.

Nice song with an ominous tone wrapped in a snappy feel, and an uplifting aftertaste even with all the dark lyrics and minor chords.

Excellent!

Hi, Dave & Co.

Nice rocker - Christine's vocals are great as always, and the lead guitar plays all the right things in all the right places.

Solid production. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I would never use a BIAB Guitar soloist track, that's my job wink But rhythm guitars are another story, it saves a lot of time to be able to just drop in a BIAB track, and most of them are pretty good.

Thanks, Herb!

Many many thanks for inviting in on this one, Dave. It was so much fun to play. Chris has the best vocal and I really like what she does with the harmony lines, and the parts where you join in. My all-time favorite guitarist! Excellent, tasteful melody in the solo.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Great to hear Chris again! Lyrics carry the song well. The lead guitar and bass are expertly played. I also run the real tracks through S-gear. Pro all the way.

Ah! That's the complete Blue Attitude experience we've all come to know and love! Hard not to miss Christiane's contribution, she's such a great singer. I always watch the video, but I thought Marty did those, I didn't realize it was you. As a fan of lyrics, I have to single out "The winds beneath my wings, they don't blow." I thought that was a great line! Great song, great guitar, great production, I'm a happy fan!

Enjoyed this one. The imagery in the video links with the lyrics very well such as the astronaut "falling" in space while moving legs like "walking" matching the lyric "Every step feels like I'm falling slow".

Yes, synth vocals have come a long way, but not as good as the real thing yet when the real thing happens to be a great vocalist, and Chris is. You can't program emotion and feel.

Thanks for the listen and comments!

I can't imagine doing a song these days without you on bass, Marty, thanks for all you do!

Great song, with great performances from all of you.
I understand your reluctance (as a really good guitarist) to use BIAB guitars, but I think most of the rhythm guitar RealTracks are _really_ good.
Enjoyed my listen a lot smile[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Hey Bob,

Marty did a couple of videos early on, a few years ago. And of course does all his BabuMusic vids. Christiane has done quite a few, and lately I’ve been doing them.

Yes, Chris is an excellent lyricist, it just comes naturally to her. Happy you liked this one!

I totally agree with the BIAB rhythm guitars, some of them are a little too busy for my tastes but most are right on the money. It just feels like cheating somehow for me to use them wink

Thanks for the listen and thanks for commenting over on YT also!
