I am very excited about the arrival of Band-in-a-Box for iOS. I have been playing with it for about a month, generating new tunes as well as importing a couple of saved files to see how they sound.

And... they sound amazing.

However there still appears to be no dynamism, yet, to the app. For example, from my experience, you cannot change voices on the various tracks, nor mute them, nor add more tracks. Part markers appear to make no difference to the styles I tried, either. However, pushes and holds do work, and you can adjust the number or choruses and tempo.

In summary, for me at this point, generating a song produces one long "flat" tune. Still, I think it is very encouraging.

In my case, I prefer to use it as a tool to import existing files to the app and use them as a backing track possibly for live performances, comparable to Jamzone:
