Marty.
What a fantastic song you and your team have produced

Holy Toledo Marty 74 tracks! that is epic 😵 , I hope you had access to gallons of coffee not to mention a good defrag program for your brain after the wrap .
Sounds like you had the classic 'I-can't-delete-anything-because-it-might-be-important' production technique. I've Been there. May the mixing gods have mercy on your ears...and your rendering times.
I really enjoy your animated vocals on this. Your vocals have a unique ability to draw me into the story that you are telling which never fails to be a fun listening experience. Great how you set the scene with the audience/band interaction with the band kicking in with that infectious fun groove. Dave Bell's guitar solo? Shredding like he's trying to pay off a student loan! The crowd's enthusiasm occasionally swallowed the lead vocals whole, which proves two things: 1) They were really into it, and 2) Sound guys have nightmares about live recordings. But honestly, who cares? This track sounds like it was a monumental undertaking, a true Herculean effort. And you know what? We, the listeners, are the lucky gods feasting on the ambrosia of your musical labour. Thanks for the joyful indigestion!"
An added personal bonus is that your song brought back fond memories of visits to "The Big Easy" ( pre Katrina) .

Oh and about that explaination: ♀♂
"Sounds like a typical rowdy night... if your night involves a PTO-approved euphemism for sex, a rogue "Grooove dat!" screamer, and a drummer heading to Bourbon Street (hopefully with a designated driver...and maybe a conga). The real question is: did the Neville Brothers show up with their PTO-approved euphemism, and did it involve beignets?" nudge nudge wink wink 😜

All around an excellent song and production Marty. I enjoyed it thoroughly ! 💯 ✔️ 🆗 👋 👍

BIG sound from a big mix - I bet the screen stunned your eyes more than once.
The "Groove that" bvocs seemed, once or twice to get in the way of the superb lead vocal but it did give the live feel a nudge up too.
Loved it.
Thanks, Ray. You're right about the mixing screen. Daunting with a lot of scrolling. Fortunately I took the trouble to keep it somewhat oranized. I should've ducked those harmonies behind the lead, but (again and as usual) you're right about it adding to the live ruse. I even came in late with the first bass note just to add to the illusion. smile At least that's what I said to myself when I realized it.

SInce I don't use a DAW, the envelopes and buses don't mean much to me - other an envelope will eventually get my letter delivered, and a bus will get me across town for a buck-and-a-half. I just wing it with BIAB and Audacity - literally.. But this is pro-sounding stuff! Excellent woprk.

Alan
Thanks, Alan. I'm blown away that you don't use a DAW; your productions are masterful events.

Thanks, Tom. Probably the only bad times in NOLA come after a particularly good time there. wink Yeah, I don't hang around with that drummer after gigs anymore. You still got the moves, Tom.

Thanks, Bob. My favorite part is you playing harmonica with it. Man, you are so good on that thing, especially the chromatic harp. Do more of those!!

Help! How do we stop the head spinning?
Man, we time out after 8 tracks or so. Wow.

We enjoyed the vibes that are similar to Dr. John and even some early Little Feat.

Bill’s washboard and harmony fits in a fine mix along with your and Dave’s excellent performances.
(Dave’s solo is happy per Janice. 😊 )

Thanks for the explanation of the audience reaction.
In addition to the crowd sounds it made us feel as though Scotty beamed us right there to your concert.

FUN!

J&B
HAHAha. I mentioned those track specifically to get your attention, Bud. I remember your reaction once when I mentioned using 20+ tracks. See, you guys can make sensational music with just a few tracks, but... Yeah, I thought the same thing too, Janice, about Dave's happy sounding solo. He always manages to fit the song perfectly. Bill is a multi talented musician and a huge benefit is that he lives close by. Hey, give me Scotty's number cuz I want him to beam me down to Georgia. Hey, there's a title, Beam Me Down To Georgia.

Loved the audience crowd noise interspaced throughout the song. Easy to imagine this being a live performance.

Wow, Izzy. Best comment ever!! Thanks so much for taking the time (and getting the spelling right -hah). Seriously, man, you words are a framer for sure. You're right, it is a great place to visit. My last time there was 2019. Gotta get back there. Let me know when you will be there. wink

On behalf of all the listeners, thank YOU, Dave. It was pretty crowded on that stage, huh? Glad you filled it out with some great playing.

Thanks, Mark. When the crowd cheered for Cryil the conga player, I knew the audience should be explained.
