This song was created using BIAB C.Eagles2 Contemporary from SD#23 at 134 bpm. BIAB tracks were imported into Cubase and converted to audio. For the intro, the BIAB synth pad track was faded in solo, along with the fingerpicked Ovation Elite plugged straight into the board. The tremolo guitar is a Fender Subsonic Telecaster; this guitar track was duped and then one copy "moved" slightly ( about 10 ms ) to create a true delay, and then each track panned hard left and right. A cool little trick I stole from another engineer pal. Very phat result. Great trick for phattening a vocal too! Ghostly distortion lead at the end of the song is a Fender Am. Std Strat thru a POD and into the board. All vocal parts are actual recordings into Cubase. No harmony machines or VSTs. SONG LINK: Faithless Heart (MP3) LYRICS LINK: Faithless Heart (DOC)Enjoy, Bob

Well jeez, another outstanding project here! I absolutely love the tele track, great tone, tasty licks. A very nice song as well. Sorta reminds me of "Cherokee Fiddle" or "Rose of Cimmaron", and once again at times I'd swear it was Michael Martin Murphy singing! The more I hear of your stuff, the more I'm inspired! I do think the ghostly strat at the end could be a little more up front. Great Job, Greg

Geeeze Pat... what a nice comment. I don't know how to respond, except to say I love to share music and tecniques and also learn from other musicians. This is such a tough business you have to take your pleasure wherever you can, and I can't think of a better way than interacting with peers. A compliment from a fan is nice, but a compliment from a fellow musician is priceless.
Thanks, Bob

Hey Greg...thank you so much. Glad you liked it. Here's a secret about the "ghostly" Strat track...the playing wasn't all that good (someone I brought in) and I had to chop it up and edit it to get it to work. So I sort of burried it in the mix. Actully the parts I kept were fairly well done and could have come up a bit. Don't tell anyone!
Oh yea...and Michael said "Thanks" for the favorable comparison to me. LOL

Hey Frankie...Thank you. I never thought of a harmony on the second verse. But as I'm listening now it seems like the perfect edit to an important verse. I'll play around with it and see what happens.
Cheers for my men....beer for my horses,
Bob

I couldn't agree more!
Great vocals, backing tracks and mix.
My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.

Mario & Noel...thank you so much. I'm really glad you enjoyed the song. Hope I'm including enough info about how we produce some of these projects. BIAB is at the core of each song even during the initial creative process, before we lay down the first track. From there it can go anywhere. But one thing has become clear. It's totally possible to create a full album of original professional quality material using BIAB, with or without RT/RD, add your vocals and instrumentation and master it for duplication without much outside input or extensive, prohibitive commercial studio cost. BIAB has singlehandedly engendered a paradigm shift in music production that meets and exceeds current music industry challenges, both financial and otherwise. It's become a very tough business in which to make money. I'm just amazed at how seemingly few people/musicians know about BIAB. For my part, I tell every musician, singer/songwriter I know about it. Hope it helps. Thanks for listening, Bob

Bob, I couldn't agree more with this statement! It's a blessing to me that I can now finally afford to record songs that I wrote 20+ years ago, plus it's giving me inspiration as well as letting me use new techniques to expand my songwriting! COOL STUFF!
Thanks PG Music!

Greg...man, do I know what you mean!! My first original album recorded at Colorado Sound (Westminster, CO) cost over $21,000 to produce. And even though I had a well-known producer with a track record and a veritable "who's who" of studio musicians, I had no idea how the songs would turn out until the project was over. With BIAB, I know, and can show a client, what a fairly close final version of a song might sound like. This saves TONS of time and money when creating original music, and the final product is always something the client had envisioned. Of course there's more to producing a new song, and my job as producer is to provide logistical support and bring in pro sidemen to add a polished sound, as well as to recommend song structure options, such as modulation or a bridge etc., but BIAB helps put us on the right track from the start. I wonder sometimes if the folks at PGM really realize what a boon to songwriters (and producers) this software has become. Also, singer/songwriters who are interested in selling there songs to TV/movies, LA, NY, or Nashville can join TAXI.com and use BIAB as the perfect showcase for their submissions. How much easier could it get?? Now you can concentrate all your efforts on writing a great song, knowing that when you're done, you can producer it, and get it out to the market or in the hands of fans/friends with little or no production cost. Thanks for listening, Bob

Had me thinking of Chris Isaak. Must be that twangy guitar and all those minor chords. (Chris will be thrilled to hear that!) Anyway, I loved it. Can’t really see how this could be improved, other than by recording another tune in a similar vein! Thanks for the dly tip too, Bob.

WOW...Marc! I'm all "twangy" inside from your wonderful comments. People are always comparing Chris Issak to me. I'm sure he's honored.

Bob, I just can say you: Amazing!! . A dose of superb well produced music. Song and voices grab atention and emotions, I love guitars there, Tele is fantastic sounded, acoustic faultlessly played and impeccable. Voices...warm and natural. Good tricks on Cub by the way!. I sometimes use the delay trick, the key is to make a "mono" center test in order the sound stay defined and clear from monophonic sources...and you did!. About distortion solo I think that should be a little more toward to center in mix space, but as you said..Ghostly. Thanks for sharing a great work and by demonstrate how PGMusic BIAB can rule in talented hands.
