I can understand why we need to support small companies, but Izotope and its parents.... I am not worried about them staying in business.

iZotope is now owned by Native Instruments. Yea, ain’t going anywhere. Their upgrades and bundles overlap and are confusing as hell. For example, I have Music Production Suite 6.5 and Komplete and they include everything in MPS 7.0 below.

The worst kept secret in the music industry is that iZotope does not qualify upgrades like nearly everybody else. I expected that to change after the NI purchase a couple years ago but it hasn’t happened yet. What this means is that if you buy this $199 iZotope Music Production Suite Upgrade Bundle, you get everything in it. There’s a bit of work once you get the codes as the NI and Bx tools come from NI and Brainwork’s (also owned by NI) and Melodyne comes from Celemony but when you’re done creating accounts with 4 companies and setting everything up, you’re good.

I wasn’t happy when Nectar went to Melodyne Essentials and dropped their internal pitch engine and reverb modules but nothing one can do about that now. The presets are great and everything can be tweaked behind the hood. I do miss the original version of Nectar, however.
