https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14986929This is more 1930s music I keep doing. I used the BALFRED RS, which consists of: 768 Bass, 771 Piano, 938 Guitar and RD JazzBrushesSticks1. I sang and played the little harmonica. Lots of flaws, I'm sure, especially on the vocal, but hopefully it is listenable. Lyrics: Don't need money Don't need fame Just hold me honey Close up to your flame You're a hot thing But just the same I'd be nothing Lost without your flame When it's cold you're great for snuggling, keep me warm all night When it's hot, you're a gasoline guzzling, speed machine, alright! Other fellows Like 'em tame Fine and mellow Pales within your flame Solo At the farenheit of passion blazes our affair If you ever might be rationed, I could never share I'm on fire You're to blame Human pyre Started by your flame

Rob, this is a lot of fun! Cool vocal and nifty harmonica fills. Really nice BiaB arrangement. PGMusic put a LOT of effort into making these jazz styles sound great, and they really do. Super arrangement and mix, too. Nice one!

Hey Bob
Forget flaws, this is fire! You've bottled the essence of a late-night jazz club and poured it straight into my ears. That band is tight, the harp howls in all the right places, and the tempo is perfection. "Scars" into "stars"? Nailed it. This song doesn't just swing, it practically dislocates its shoulder grooving so hard. And your voice? Satchmo meets Waits in a back alley brawl, and the result is pure gold. You're ridiculously talented, and I'm not even a little bit jealous (ok, maybe a wee bit).
My ears are sending you a standing ovation 👋👋👋🏼👋🏽👋🏾👋

Ah, the TuneMonger harmonica. Man, that is so good. Chromatic crooner. Speaking of crooner, I dig that vocal, and the way you express the lyrics. Passion and purpose in the vocal, the kind that captivates the listener who wants to know the story. It'd be such a treat to walk into a NYC club in the 30s and hear this guy on stage. I'm a fan for sure.

Great example of how simplicity can really shine! Right smack in the bullseye of the genre. I especially liked the "inside" rhymes..fahrenheit/might... excellent work, really enjoyed it!

That was very fun. Nothing wrong with your vocals. Still I'd love to hear Rickie Lee Jones sing this.

Very authentic sounding golden oldie Great Box Orchestra and the harmonica fills all the right places. I enjoyed your charismatic and expressive vocal. And the lyrics have skillful word play and they are humorous with lines like "gasoline guzzling, speed machine", you're definitely on fire Janne

Very cool song. Perfect simple instrumentation and I love that harmonica.

NOTE: we just noticed there is a newer version. We’ll get there. Your vocal sounds great, full of soul and a wink of the eye. Awesome harmonica playing - fits so nicely. Fun lyric! The BiaB guys are just right! Loved it! J&B PS. Janice said she could see Fred Astaire doing this song in a movie!

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments on this one. If you haven't yet, however, puh-leease listen to Beth's (BYOBand) outstanding vocal on this same song. She really takes the tune to another level. I don't want to hijack either thread by providing a link, so just scroll down the list of song titles and it should come up.

Hi Rob,
Now this is great music - excellent song and lyrics, superb Chromtic harp playing and your vocals - well I didn't know you could sing with such class and style - fabulous!
Loved every minute of this one.

Flaws are overrated - your song and vocals have a nice Sinatra vibe, that's all that matters. And your harmonica playing is really good. Enjoyed my listen!
